Forums - Sales - Console prices in Sweden

The Euro is not used in Sweden, but as far as I know the SEK is pegged to the Euro, so it will never fluctuate much away from it.

EDIT - actually I'm not so sure, I know the Danish currency is pegged to the Euro, but the Swedish one may not be.

And never forget to take taxes out before doing currency conversion.

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

I don't think you should be using PPP numbers in this case. The PPP is something you derive from price comparisons like these, so if you take the price ratio and then add the PPP ratio you will essentially add the PPP twice. Anyway, here's the nominal GDP for 2006:

USA: $44190

Sweden: $42383

UK: $39213

It's even more expensive here in Norway, we have the most expensive goods in the world! It's true, no kidding!!
When I cross the border to Sweden, I laugh at how cheap things are, especially foodstuffs and car parts.
I'm trying to buy an Intercooler for my Volvo, so I visited a shop in Østersund in Sweden called H2M.
Their IC in my desired size was about 1800 SEK, which translates to roughly 1550 NOK.
I found the same IC on a sale here in Norway... At 6000 NOK...

Insanity to say the least...

As for games and consoles; a Wii game costs around 100$ here, and the Wii itself about 500$, and it's the cheapest console by far!
Before the 40 GiG, it was impossible to get a PS3 here for less than 1100$...

PS: If anyone wonders, I pay about 2 dollars 10 cents for one LITRE of gas...
My car? A 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo with roughly 200.000 kilometers on the dial, at which price? 105.000 NOK, or approx 18-19.000 $, and it was cheap by our standard.

PSPS: Please; feel free to pity me...

True, on average, a Norwegian salary is about 360.000 NOK a year before taxes (roughly 36%, 50% for overtime). But there are almost 600.000 in Norway who are either unemployed, elderly or otherwise impaired from working, so about 12-13% of us are not so well off. I belong to the latter group myself, and have about 100.000 a year before tax.  I'm hoping to start living off of my writing soon, but it's hard to break through here if you don't write crime novels.
