Why would you take platforming out of a platform game? What you just said now is that LBP is a bad platforming game. If you take the multi-player out of metroid prime 2 then it would still be just as good So you're actually wrong with that as well.

Miyamoto has said countless of times that Mario is not about a story, but about the platforming only. It's 99.9% platforming and 0.1% story. When I see someone talking about LBP it's mostly about the user generated content and not about the amazing platform gameplay.

Please its a no contest. Even NSMB DS which I didn't like that much is better than LBP as a total package. In case some of you don't know, the whole point of a platformer is the interaction of the character with the stage and by that I mean the way different forces such as momentum, gravity and stuff affect your movement. So 90% of the challenge is a mathematical problem. That is what makes all the mario games great.

This is why when NSMB Wii was announced and LBP fans were shouting and saying LBP was better, I was astounded. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!

Theres over 200 mario games, and only 1 littlebigplanet game. I would hope mario is the better platformer..

Haha nice try. Super Mario Brothers on NES is twice(being generous here) the game LBP will ever be so your statement is a bit pointless

I don't think Mario and LBP are comparable, really. One is focused on tight gameplay, one is focused on UGC. That's how I see atleast.
