I prefer Link to remain silent, but voices for the other characters is something that I wouldn't be opposed to.

no voice please.. the duologue box makes Zelda games more interesting and intense
| Mr Khan said: I think the cutscenes need voices, but otherwise it should be text. As i was playing Twilight Princess, i really settled on that. Like when i was trying to run the hot springwater across the field to get it to the one goron on the west side of town, i would have absolutely hated having to listen to that Goron elder (the one hunched over like a Brahmin in front of Malo Mart) berate me for having failed. It was bad enough having to read it, but having to listen would be torturous
But on the other end of the spectrum, when they were in a cinematic sort of context, it was awkward to see this dramatic scene playing out, the character move to speak, and nothing
That's what i feel, now. |
Yeah, I too really think that's the way to go. No voice in cinematics fell awkward, but voice on every dialogue in the overworld would get annoying, specially when you talk for a second or third time with someone and they have the same thing to say and you just cut them. Anyway, I think the jibberish sound is really benefical.
You people do realise that Charles Martinet doesn't just do Mario-like voices right?
I agree with Miyamoto, don't give Link a voice.

It isn't a creative RPG, you do not craft Link how you want him to be, you are forced to do whatever the game wants you to. Not having a voice will be poor. |
how is adding a voice this gen a joke? no one really talked about link having a voice ever until now

If you knew anything about the series, you would know that link doesn't talk for a reason. Voice Acting as a whole, isn't bad though.

Not all games which get voices are good. And one of Links trademark features is being a silent protagonist.
Just because certain series such as Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and GTA put so much emphasis on cenematics and dialogue doesn't mean every game has to. There's an argument to the effect that if every game does something, no game will stand out. And Nintendo certainly has edged out a profit by standing out this gen and over the years.
