You should just check the good/bad points of the consoles and games then choose...You're just going to hear biased and even unrational opinions here. :P

Thank you for your opinion, I think the blu ray is a big plus.
also the 360 failure rate scares me

mmmm ok lets lokk at the pros and cons of both consoles:
PS3
pros: It has blu ray, Doesn't break as much
Cons: Pricier than a 360
360
pros: Has some badass games ( Gears of war, Halo, Left 4 Dead, etc.)
Cons: Breaks a lot

you really need both , if your a true gamer, because they both have great exclusives, but for me, if i could only have one, i would choose the ps3, free online, wifi , bluray, controllers that charge with out spending more money. ps3 it really does do everything. its also a reliable console. also ps3 has great exclusives, killzone 2 , res 1 and 2, infamous, little big planet, god of war 3, MAG, uncharted 1 and 2 , heavy rain, ratchett and clank, metal gear solid, killzone 3 and res 3 announced, and many others. great great games, for me more then 360

Xbox 360 Elite:
Console: $299.99
Wireless Internet: $79.99
1 Year of XBLive: $50.00
Total price: $429.98
PlayStation 3:
Console: $299.99
Wireless Internet: $0.00
PSN: $0.00
Total Price: $299.99
I think it's obvious which one is cheaper.

What twestern said; if you are serious about getting one of these systems, check the facts for yourself. Look at what each systems offers, which has more games you prefer, what your friends play, etc... At least 90% of the responses you get will most likely be bias.
If you live in the USA get the 360 unless you like playing by yourself.
If you're a shooter fan 360 is a no brainer since the controller is light years ahead of the PS3's for shooters.
If you're not a shooter fan and you don't live in the USA, its a toss up.
well just see some exclusive games for both consoles and decide if you find more games to your liking on xbox360 get that one if you like more games one ps3 get that one simple .

ummm no, there are still 10m people with a ps3 so you wont be playing by yourself, i live in the us, alot of my freinds have a 360 but i do have friends with a ps3, no one should get a console because of what their friends have, its like getting halo when all your friends have it, even though you know you probably dont like the game
