It makes me happy if I see good games selling bad on other systems, because I can enter a thread about a specific game bombing and say: "Ha!".

wow >_>

What, is something wrong with that? There are plenty of such people here on VGC, at least I am honest enough to admit it.

if its a good game, then it should recieve high sales, no matter what....if its a crap game that doesnt deserve it, then laugh....otherwise its just messed up....sure you admit it, since you can admit it you should be able to change the way think about the matter

No, I don't think that I have a problem. It's a good thing if a good game bombs on another console, because that could mean that third parties learn from their mistake and next time make their game for the console I own, where it should have been in the first place. Also, it might teach other third parties to not make the same mistake which means even more games for my console.

When is your console being released? and how much will it be? I want to pre-order.

I bet the specs are awesome.

Well I did hit a warning light reading over "console I own", but I figured I would ignore it as you could be a company director.

Would be neat to own your own console brand... probably wouldn't have much time for any actual gaming though, so maybe not.

Gotta applaud that while most use this thread to wash hands, you say what tends to happen in all other threads.

I cry when games do too well on platforms which I do not own and it compels me to spin reasons for why those sales in actuality are flops. Oh and all those who argue me are ugly dirty rotten no good fanboys!

I don't care for sales at all, I just want to check out the forum. And there's always some new news
about a new game or such.

I like seeing what other gamers are interested in playing. Sales help with that (although, the forums are mostly why I'm here). In real life, I only talk video games with 2-3 people - everyone else plays sports games, shooters or music games........that's not a whole lot of variety.

If my high priced system doesnt sell i will go crazy, and if i dont spread propaganda about how my high priced system is superior then i wont receive checks from the console makers.

Then i die :(

I don't care that much. I just come here to post on the forum.
It's nice to see a game you like sell well. But I am astounded at the number of threads where people discuss Sony/Microsoft's business strategy which usually goes beyond gaming. WTF?
Who cares about the fate of multinational corporations? I can't believe the console war goes to that level.

I do! I do!

Actually I care about the business side of things more than about playing games. It's my hobby.

It's like a race, or a sports event, with its rules, rounds, clear scoring system(sales), and the deeper strategy behind it.

With games, I like seeing some games that I think are a total joke fail (i.e. all of the Wii's "test" games like DS:E), and I like seeing games I like and want more of perform well (I want a Mirror's Edge sequel, I also think Ninja Theory sucks for ditching Heavenly Sword after such good sales, and I liked watching Valkyria Chronicles sales take off 6 months post release).

With regards to consoles, I just want more developer support for the consoles I love. It infuriates me that the Wii is selling so well and has such shitty games, because in the first year of its release I believed the great sales would mean great games with large budgets, but instead we get a lot of cash-ins and mediocre developers making games on the Wii. I want the PS3 to win because I want more exclusives for it, since all the PS3 exclusives I've played have graphically eclipsed 360 exclusives.

Another reason I care about console sales is because if the PS3 performed worse, it wouldn't be the lead platform for most multiplatform titles, the 360 would still be the lead platform. I won't deny multiplatform superiority on the 360, because multiplatform titles never take advantage of the SPE's.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

Because it's important.

curiosity and also its nice to know if a game you like sells well
