Forums - Sony - YEAH! Got a PS3 last saturday...

@zackblue

motorstorm is pretty good, I have played better driving games though, I play GT HD more. 7/10.

heavenly sword is awsome, I really love it, you cant button mash through the game, the three stances give a good variety and the graphics and acting make it a real epic game 9.5/10.

I hate microsoft because I hate their illegal business ways and because windows is dog$%!t.

==> +1 for you !

Time to Work !

To me " Next Gen" means cutting edge, and something that is new. The Wii is closer to next gen than the 360 as it does have a very different control scheme which separates it from all the console. The GFX are weak, but I guess you dont need HD graphics for Mario. The 360 isnt next gen by any standard. Multi core systems have been done before, the controller is the same, and its still just a PC in a box. The PS3 however has a new format, a very different CPU, and architecture that has never been done before. A lot of people bash the Sixaxis, but it really is a very good feature. Everyone makes the motions anyway, now it actually affects the game. The interaction wih the PSP ( handheld in general) is also something that hasnt been done before, and is a very good feature. The fact that I can access my PS3 from anywhere in the world is also a first for a game console. Sure all this comes at a price, and the games have taken longer to get here, but with games like R&C, proving what the PS3 is capable of devs will make there games better for the PS3. Its still the cheapest fully functional HD console.

I think the psp should have been released nex gen, Its more powerful than the playstation 2, and its slim as hek. I think the psp is TRUE nex gen.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

The PSP is (about) the same strength as the PS2...

Actually its more like a dreamcast in terms of power

I traded in my PS2 for £30.

And this, my friends, is why backwards compatibility IS a big deal. There's little incentive to keep the PS2 around for people who have LCDs or Plasmas, picture quality is better with PS3 upscaling your PS2 games.

 Personally, I wouldn't say picture quality is better, but rather it is different. PS2 games on a PS3 with upscaling look blocky, while PS2 games on PS2 look a bit blurry. Personally, I don't really have a preference.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
