Forums - Nintendo - New Super Mario Bros. Wii GAMESPOT review

Gamespot is a bit strict nowadays, MW2 got a 9.0 when everybody else seem to be giving it a 10/10.

Its actually valid point the no classic controller support, at least in that an additional player could play instead of having to buy another fucking wiimote.

How's that?  No game that I nkow of lets one person use a classic controller and the wiimote it's plugged into at the same time.  So you would still have to buy the wiimotes to plug the classic controllers into.  Perhaps you are thinking game cube controllers instead of classic?

yea lol, I got it wrong, the one that plugs into the console is the GC controller indeed.

NSMBW is like a trojan for more Wiimote sales, why don't they make rechargable batteries too while they are at it for gods sake. There Nint€ndo.

Plus the Motion+ makes the Wiimote too bulky when its held sideways, the shit we go through ...

@Galaki
Just press a button to replace the shaking gesture perhaps, not that it matters.

you can get Wii Big Super Shell Classic Grip here http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75729

I regret making this my username, I made this name when I was 13 years old

Life could always get worse, you could be a mod for Neogaf

okay...this game came out here in Australia yesterday so I've got a copy and played it quite a bit...

...and I gotta say the 8.5's it's been getting from some publications and sites is probably (in my opinion)completely justified...it's a GREAT game for what it is, and I'm a pretty big mario fan...but it really doesn't (so far) bring anything new to the table...not that I really expected or wanted it too. In many ways I feel like I'm replaying smb3 or smw but slightly remixed!
(I'd give the game a 9 but if I were to judge it on some of the merits-or lack of- that the 'pros' are judging it against I'd probably give it an 8! Retro style)
One thing I'm impressed with is that the game is definately more difficult than a lot of nintendo's more recent releases (definately harder than nsmds and Galaxy)...not that it's the most difficult game out there...it's good to see nintendo have listened to some of the complaints from their older fans (who stuck with them through the shit)and I now have higher expectations for their upscoming games...

Anyway just thought I'd give my 2 cents worth cos I'm upset that a lot of you seem angry it's not getting higher scores...8.5 is a good score for a game that would've scored 10 in 1993 after all!!!

As a single player game, it sounds awesome and hoenstly, that's mostly what I'll be using it as.

Edge is starting to look more and more retarded with their 7.0

A classic controller wouldn't really fit into that old classic "Mario feeling" , but I also don't really want to buy two other Wiimotes (I already have two), since they are quite expensive. IMO it would have been a welcomed feature if Nintendo would have added it.

Take a look at my photos on flickr

Hello, you have to attach the classic controller to a Wiimote to use it, so what's the point?

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

?

I'm not sure I'm following you. The Wiimote is required to use the Classic Controller....so you'd need to buy another Wiimote anyway.

Do you mean the Gamecube controller perhaps?
