Forums - Sales - FFCC: The Crystal Bearers sells 26,000 copies on day 1.

26.000 (34%)

The Crystal Bearers has sold 1/3 of it's start shipment on day one. Seems not bad to me.

I start to wonder if Tales of Graces will be able to outsell ToV after seeing that.

no it just means the expectations of retailers were about right.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Wow, FFCC is a bomba,
especially considering, that Wii has doubled GC userbase in Japan.
How many people were expecting such low sales? Not me for sure.

B-b-but Final Fantasy games sell on the name alone!! People will buy any game as long as the FF name is stamped on it!!!

...

Or at least that's what certain forum members here wanted me to believe. Seems like it's not the case, however, as that is a really poor perfomance for what is apparently a very-high quality Final Fantasy game.

Ouch.

Please grow legs. Or perhaps the famitsu review was right, and it's not that good?

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Echoes of Time Wii deserved to fail.....#1 worst atemp to cash in ever this GEN and probably period...so using it as a measure means nothing..overall lets judt wait till 1st week sales....BTW MH IS NOT A RPG!!!

At first I was, but when I realized it was only out of 75000, I was OK with that. If it were out of 200000, then it would've been a true failure.

You're wrong there. If the shipment would be 200k instead of 75k, the sellthrough would have been lousy, but SquareEnix would already have made a profit of this game. That's all that counts here. With a first week shipment of 75k, this game is never going to sell 200k.

Shipment sales are much more important for publishers and developers than sellthrough sales.

Awesome, great sales!

oh, and because I know people are going to compare it to the FFCC GC game, consider this. Every tales game in existence is a flop, except for the GC one. Tales and FFCC on the GC sold as well as they did only because there was no competition on the GC.. There we go, now just delete that response you had prepared. Thank You :)

i believe it's bad : (

also, Dragonball did bad as well, compared to previous dragonball games on Wii and Ps2

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Shipment was low because retail didn't have confidence in the game. Looks like they were right.

I can't wait to hear from the first Wii fanboy that admits bombs like this exist because the Wii user base consists primarily of people that want to play Wii Fit and Wii Sports.
