Even ignoring that silliness about Amano and your lack of appreciation for his art, ARE YOU SERIOUS?
YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS.
Have you never read a book?

And im sorry theres no way a pixel and inspire true emotion, how can it show emotion if you can barely see there damn face? i know Euphiria will be pissed when he reads this, but i just dont understand you old-school gamers, im sorry... call me a stupid kid of a gamer if ya want, but i dunno. |
Read those three links, they do a much better of explaining the emotion than I ever could.
And I love the picture of Terra (#3), such an odd and amazing sexy look. It's a little weird for Terra but I still like it.
Also, I forgot this one that I love (I even have that poster in my office):

I wish I could find it without all the other stuff on it
And look, Terra WAS basically drugged out for the first scene of the game
That was kind of the whole point

Here is the behemoh menacing our heroes. You may recognize the foremost one, Seraphic, though I'm sure it is only from Dissidia.
| Seraphic_Sixaxis said: reading it now. and yes khuutra im serious. |
Have you never read a book? Have you never been able to glean emotion just from writing, or from music? Do you need to have something spelled out for you that plainly? If your imagination can fill in any details at all, if you can see anything beyond just face value, then you must be able to see what would make these moments emotional. Reading about them won't do anything for you if you've already played them and managed to miss the point of each and every one of them.

Haha, well damn that looks really nice, jeez. and yes... i do recognize him, hes the warrior of light, but your correct again when you say it was from Dissidia, i knew nothing about warrior of light until dissidia.
as for the book thing, i dont read much books now an days, but i get what your saying, and i take back what i said, its true i do get that emotional vibe from books to, but its just not the same when it comes to sprites, most likely due to my Super Mari Wolrd days on the SNES after then i couldn't take spirtes seriously, and pokemon blue, red and yellow only supports that for me.
Have no fear though im not that heartless to not feel a thing when reading cerain books.

this thread is getting weirder and weirder...
and twes i thought you hated Final fantasy. i never knew.
Since i didn´t play FF6 and don´t know how Kefka is it think avatar speaks for itself
Amano is one of the best artists, hands down.
not only in games but he also does it outside. his art is inspired by ancient japanese watercoloring back in the days of the sengoku period.
his art is always on the logos of final fantasy my sig's goddess picture is from his work
and i wish i bought this version of dissidia it looks so good

here is some more of my favourites from him (i can't count of how many i like there are many)

oh and here is one that actually make me look forward for Final Fantasy Versus

it showed on the trailer
on the other hand tetsuya nomura's style is like the polar opposite, he is inspired by modern day anime models and in no way or shape resemble anything you see in an Art work , maybe Computer Generated Arts , oh and he looooooooooooooooovvvveess Zippers

the bottom line is, comparing Amano to Nomura is like comparing Steven Speilberg to Neil Gaiman.
they have nothing in common.
