What you just said reminds me of that episode of Top Gear on the BBC when Jeremy totally dissed all American made supercars as cheap, poorly made crap in comparison to their European and Japanese counterparts.

This is nothing to do with the topic of course but it just reminded me of that, sorry. Not trolling.

OT: It would have been difficult for any system to maintain or improve sales when selliing as many consoles as the wii did over the last couple years. From that point of view it's awesome.

PS3 > x360 surprised me. It just proves EU+others+Japan >>> NA. This is were Sony must focus.

I now believe EU and Japan will offset anything that MS (or Wallmart or whoever) does to the x360 in it's homeland...except gave it a way for free.

Those 600,000 to 1m users banned from live may just about be pissed of with MS and go sony. I BTW agree with the ban. Hopefully lots more to come.

Just for a second imagine that the PS3 had the same deal as the x360 just had in the US (wallmart + amazon).

It would have sold a damn million I am sure.

Does he? Don't know. I was just stating what he said. I also pointed out it was about supercars, like lotus, ferrari etc, against the viper, corvette etc.,

rather than mainstream Fords which has a car for all pockets and is built outside the US. It was Off Topic anyway, not important.

It would not have sold a million. Why? Because the appeal isn't as strong in the USA for the PS3. I have to agree with you on the point that Japan now buying the PS3 means the race is going to be neck and neck with PS3 probably ahead 10-20k each week. But considering the 6+ million lead Xbox has, lets be realistic on how long it's going to take for it to surpass Microsoft. (hint, rhymes with dears)

I for one don't think it will ever overtake the x360 as long as both are alive.

As for US appeal it has been pretty close to the x360 (outselling it some weeks) since the slim. It took the recent "same price as ps2 - face value" at some retailers to get it way ahead the PS3 again in the US.

If it can maintain that for the rest of it's life that's a result consider where it is coming from after that $599 price tag at launch..or was it $499. 

I yr head start in US and 1and half in EU for x360 equates to 3-4 million ahead. If PS3 gets that close it is even, speaking relatively of course.
