I have a 20 gig launch PS3. I know it's easy to swap out the hard drive, but I just haven't brought myself to fork out the money. There's always another game that gets those $ instead. Nothing pisses me off more than a huge install for a PS3 game. If Uncharted 2 and other PS3 games can look as good as they do without an install, why do other less impressive games have huge ones? I haven't had too much trouble with space on the hard drive, but every now and then a game comes along that really chews up space.
Recently, I've been checking out a lot of cheap used games that I had overlooked at the time of their release. I've found a lot of pleasant surprises. I went to Gamestop today to buy The Bourne Conspiracy and was really annoyed when I looked at the back of the box and saw a minimum hard drive space of 5 gig required. Even though it was only $17.99, I put it right back on the shelf.
One of these days I'll bite the bullet and replace that hard drive. I'd love to dump all of my MP3s on there and use the PS3 as my main music player.
Keep this in mind when reading what I type...
I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.
