I'm happy with my toy.
The PS3 is a pain though, as I have no internet connection right now and can't patch my game

I don't mind it but personally I only use the consoles to play games and watch dvds. All the other stuff is totally useless to me.

If I ever miss my SEGA Genesis, I know where to find it and my 30 cart game collection. The most recent addition being some games I bought off a friend last year... I love my Genesis, and I don't miss it. I could use a couple more 6 button controllers, and 10 more games, though. What I truly want is a new copy of "Battle Toads and Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team" I used to love that game. I could also use "Spider-Man and Venom: Separation Anxiety". Those are the two I really want to complete my collection.
I like all the extra stuff my PS3 does... and, if you want, you could use the PS3 specifically as a gaming console if you so choose. The options are there, doesn't mean you have to use them, they're not mandatory, or everyone would be forced to use Linux for so many hours a day before even playing their PS3.
If you don't like the extra stuff don't use it.....

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

You don't have to use the extra things that go with it. I do sometimes miss just popping something in my n64 and playing it but at the same time my xbox 360 is my main dvd viewing machine.
The extra features can be nice, but I despise installations, downloadable content and patches.
I don't mind the integration at this time, it's very easy (for me) to power-up and start playing, with a minimum of fuss. If i ever had to jump through hoops, to get past the extra stuff, just to play, I'd be pissed though.
I think the PS2 was the perfect mix of entertainment system and game system. It had amazing games and a DVD player. I think that's all you need. I like how Nintendo focused on just gaming but come on, they could have at least put in a DVD player. Net browsing and such is a little too much.
