Forums - Nintendo - Resident Evil 5 on Wii “possible”

If it hasn't been mentioned yet. The comment of "technicly not capable" has nothing to do with Nintendo Wii not having the technical ability. But instead refers to the engine it's currently running on won't run on the Wii due to the multicore nature of the games design. Though we know that prior to Multicore games were single core and many PC games still run single core if peope don't have an MC machine. So those with some savvy know that Capcom just isn't very fast at being adaptive. Which just continue to what I say. Capcom software engineers are just not very good. I'm sure the coders are find, just not the ones who lay out the architect.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Resident Evil: Africa Chronicles confirmed!!!!

Dont forget that RE4 was a product of some of the best out there. I for one an confident that if Capcom ports RE5 to Wii, it will look worse than RE4. I doubt its a high enough priority to actually make the game look great on Wii.

Agreed.  Monster Hunter 3 is easily the best looking Wii game yet.

RE5 will never come to Wii without losing everything that makes it great. The guy making that comment isn't an idiot, he knows a fully controlled environment/enemy on rails game is nothing comparable to a full player controlled game with a hundred variables.

This is Darkside Chronicles promotion, nothing more.

Everything that made it great was in RE4, which is "a full player controlled game with a hundred variables", so don't you think you're fooling anyone by pretending otherwise.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Spoken like someone who has never played it.

Written (since you obviously can't hear my voice) like someone who hasn't played RE4, or "forgot" about it. RE5 is basically RE4 with larger backgroud environments. You can run that on the Wii at RE4 level or slightly lower.

But what really blows your credibility here is you deciding what he meant, based on how you decided games work. He's a developer, you aren't.

The only area in RE5 Wii *might* have trouble with recreating is the open swamp imo, and even then they could just cut some draw distance. When you land on the "islands", they're pretty small anyway.

The only really good thing about RE5 was the co-op though. Split screen may prove too much for Wii, but they could keep online intact.

Again, I can't have spoken it. This isn't a verbal discussion. It seems you aren't even thinking about what you are typing, just repeating stock arguments thinking they are valid.

It doesn't matter if I played it. Even before I got a chance to try it out, all impressions at launch time were that was what it was like, whether it was from those that liked it or hated it (as opposed to some games getting different impressions depending on those).

So unless you are going to call every other gamer who played it a liar, it's not really that more advanced than RE4.

The biggest issue is the co-op, but even that can be done with some work.

I've played it thoroughly. It's basically RE4 in HD, with nicer models/textures, amazing lighting, worse level/boss design and a braindead AI partner. Controls were a real step back from RE4 Wii.

belive me i tried but i cant understand the hatred many people have agianst re5, hell i liked it 10X better than re4.
