don't they usually do updates on Tuesday or Wednesday? which would make it 17-18th.

The PS Store updates on Thursday, so I would assume that the firmware updates come on the same day unless it's a special occasion like E3 or something.  However, I have never really checked when they release the firmware updates, I just download them when I need to, so don't quote me on anything.
