I think they should spend they hard earned cash, into online gaming, expand their production, and yes yes yes buy 3rd party companies. Or just take all that cash dump it in a pool, and go for a dive ;)

Nintendo needs to re-invest this money back into the wii and do it fast, the wii will not be #1 forever. Up production and expand the wii into other countries like the PS3.
Plus they could expand their teams that work on Nintendo games, Nintendo has some of the smallest teams in all of gaming. Last gen they had crap for games. If Nintendo thinks they can win this gen with poor first party support like with the GC they are wrong.
After Galaxy, Brawl, mario cart, Zelda and MP3 they have nothing. Either buy more companies, or start making more of these games like crazy.

Wow you're right. After those games there will be nothing left. I'm sure nintendo didn't even think about that when they scheduled release dates. Geez wonder what they'll do now that they have no more games to sell. >.> They couldn't possibly have anything lined up for the entire year of 2008 or maybe even the rest of the wii's lifespan O.o
It's been a rough ride for both Nintendo and third party developers, so much of the GC era caused Nintendo to atrophy that now they're struggling to make their development teams keep up with a successful console. Third party developers still need to learn how to properly implement the Wii's motion controls and figure out how to approach the Wii as many are only putting a moderate effort forward in making thoroughly developed or non-casual games.

Maybe you never heard of the N64 and the Gamecube. Nintendo failed with these two systems to make enough games, and bring great third party games to the system. Only one main Mario game on each of these systems, while Sony pumped out multiple spyro and bandicoot games on the PS1. Then they had 4 ratchet games on the PS2 and 3 or more jak games on the system aswell.
Nintendo needs to make their teams bigger and buy more companies ASAP if they expect to keep up sales of the wii.
Sony needs to make their money back and do it fast, the PS3 will be #3 forever. Up quality games and expand into other demographs like Nintendo.
Plus they could reduce their teams that work on Sony games, Sony has some of the largest teams in all of gaming. Last gen they had crap for games. If Sony thinks they can win this gen with great graphics they are wrong.
After MGS4, FF, Killzone, GTA, and GT they have nothing. Either buy more companies, or start making more of these games like crazy.

That would be geunis, and with all their characters, they could do it. Poekmon roller coaster w/ pikachu seats would be pwnage. Also I think they should Be S-E, Take Two, and save the rest of their money and a war chest.

Nintendo needs to capitalize on its Gameboy library while they still can. There is no company better positioned to create games for phones than Nintendo, as they are the masters of creating low memory games. |
Nintendo patened their "game boy" cell phone, didn't they? Now is the time to turn the game boy brand into their won cell phne line. Ds can be their handhelds. They should find a carrier though. I would say verizon, becuase, well, apple already picked the other guy ;)
im sure whatever they are actually doing with their money, is well thought out and better than anything we can toss up off the top of our heads.
Their first party support is good this generation, as it has been every generation but i do think they need to put some time into branching away from mario, pokemon and so on and take their skills to a less cartoon environment, even though I absolutely adore Mario games, i would love to see their abilities used on something like MGS.
I don't think they will buy any other developers outright, it just doesn't seem like their style, I would image more 'dream team' style ventures, cherry picking key developers from different teams and using them to collaborate on their projects.
They don't even need to buy anyone if their user base is big enough, they will come on their own accord.
My personal dream option would be for them to gather up the real rare team and rebuild the company back to its glory days.
