Actually, i you read the majority of reviews, or look to those like me who play SP way more than MP, you'll see Uncharted 2 SP wipes the floor with MW2 SP. MW2 is a good fps with a terrible campaign that is short, unfocused and actually has few really wow moments. Uncharted 2 on the other hand is much longer, focused and has he most 'wow' moments of any SP campaign I've played in years. In other words, MW2 is all about the MP, hell, it's obvious plenty of MW2 purchasers aren't even going to bother with the SP (apart from maybe trying out the now infamous Airport level) whereas with Uncharted 2 the SP is what pushed the games, with the coop and MP as a nice bonus. |
In terms of single player Uncharted 2 is the way to go. What I am worried about is whether the fellow is getting his moneys worth. The campaign in MW2 isn't terrible, it is just really short. You take the training and you go on the campaign get it over with and you're ready for multiplayer. It was a very good exprience for me. Now multiplayer has always been this games bread and butter. Uncharted may bring him on a movie-like joyride for 10 hours, but after that you're just stuck with the normal gameplay mechanics in multiplayer. That will not last like MW2 does. If he wants Holy shit moments...multiplayer holy shit moments are made by the player. In Uncharted 2 its just as equal to watching a movie. You press the button, you survive, if you don't.....well you die and rehash the moment until you put in the command on time and watch the cinematic. As far as the OP is concerned that has nothing to do with the topic, he wants a great first or third person shooter that is worth his $60 that can can give him holy shit moments. On the PS3 no other game will give those moments in my opinion than MW2. Uncharted was great, but that game will come and pass because of the gameplay mechanics.
