dragon age will win by default. these type of awards almost never go to exclusive games it usually goes to multiplats and dragon age was available to a lot more ppl not just PS3 owners. Dragon Age will win

Hey, there is always hope. They gave it Mass Effect in 2007, a game that wasn't available to anyone other than 360 owners.

It released in 2008 for the PC.

Granted there wasn't much to write home about on the PS3 anyways, but they still gave it to Mass Effect instead of Persona 3. Well, most of them anyways.

yea but wat other RPG's came out in 2007 that were up to Mass Effect's quality??? personally i dont think P3 is up there with Mass Effect(P4 definitely is though)

you have me confused now man, was it Mass effect or Persona that got game of the year...

Usually when i think of game of the year i think of Spike TV/G4 video game awards thingy.

Websitse are all different so it might be a half and half with a slight lean on dragon age.

I think Dragon Age will win the battle for OVERALL rpg of the year. Console specific, Im thinking Demon Souls would win out. However, they might move Demon Souls to another category, so DA will win across all platforms.

Id be fine either way (as long as Demon Souls gets the credit from the media "elite" it deserves)

Plus do you honestly see a site like IGN giving Dragon Age (8.7) the RPG GoTY instead of Demon's Souls (9.4)?

RPG of the Year is handed out by numerous sites. Persona 3 got it from RPG Gamer I believe, that or RPG Fan, maybe both.

Mass Effect got it from some of the bigger named sites.

There is more than just 1 RPG of the year. I am asking who will take home the award from the majority of them.

Edit - Back of my Persona box says Gamespot as well.

Back of my Persona box says that Gamespot gave the 2007 RPG award to Persona instead of Mass Effect, so like I said, you never know.
