I tried earlier and it just said fetching playlist and then after 5 minutes it said status change or something like that. now it just says connecting for multiplayer servers and never gets passed that.

I can't get on either. Nor could I invite friends to my party when it actually was working yesterday.

I believe they're working on a fix for it, right?

So they provide enough servers for the 360 game, but for the ps3 game they didn't, were they expecting it to flop?

360 users use peer to peer if I'm not mistaken on servers provided by Microsoft whereas PSN is all outsourced.

You hit the nail on the head. IW cashed in their check from microsoft so of course there will be no problems with the 360 version.

Yeah because IW and Activision want to piss off the 3.5 million PS3 owners who bought the game. Guess again. Has any PSN game had this many owners on at once? I don't think so. Thus the problems. Live had this when Halo 3 came out, and a tiny bit when the first MW came out.

Oh and the word from IW

""Xbox Live servers are maintained and ran by Microsoft. PSN servers are ran and maintained by 3rd party companies hired to do so," Bowling explained. He went on to say, "MP doesn't require a patch. It's a server overload not a bug in the code. They're working to have servers back up ASAP."

At around 9 p.m. last night I was able to play online again.
