Forums - PC Discussion - My console gaming days are over for awhile

After 700+ hours of 360 Oblivion, I finally broke down and got a subscription to WoW.   While it isn't a "I'm the focus of the game" sort of experience like single-player RPGs, WoW has a lot to offer, particularly for those who like lots o' ways to level up.  I'm currently focusing on solving quests (as most here probably know, the game is just mind-bogglingly large, so the number of available quests is like drinking from a fire-hose), but I'm also taking time to level up my fishing ability, my cooking ability, as well as first aid and skinning.

There are SO many minor skills that can be focused on--and add in all the guilds/campaigns/socialization/etc.--that I can imagine playing this for a very, very long time.  It's good to be back into PC (well, Mac, actually) gaming again.  I miss my 40" Sony LCD, but I can give it a little attention when I take breaks to watch Blu-Ray movies and House.

WoW is really fun. Good choice.

You could always plug your computer into the TV, assuming you have an HDMI port on the comp - or get a DVI to HDMI adaptor as well. :O

How much time do you think you probably ended up investing in it?

True... but my "computer" room is my upstairs office (I have a large Mac tower), while the 40" is downstairs in the living room.  Plus the router router is upstairs and I don't have wireless on my tower.  So... for now I'll just suffer through with a 19" monitor.

Good luck in WoW, hopefully you don't have Leroy Jenkins on your team.

Given your post history, I know you're going to be back when Halo: Reach drops.

eww mac

You could always spend like a grand on a ton of HDMI cable in that case, lol.

But that'd be kinda counterintuitive since you could get a massive monitor for that price instead.  Plus, I'm sure there are a million and one better ways to spend money then a grand of cable. >_>

About 120 hours but I could have played a lot more.

I stopped because I wanted to play different games but I was not even bored after 120 hours.

...and I didn't mean that in a bad way.
