Forums - Gaming - Apple poised to interrupt the gaming business

An Apple gaming console would be all hype and fashion and no real worth to me. No thanks, I am quite content with what consoles are already on offer thank you very much!

Guys. I very much doubt apple will introduce a console. Its too expensive and doesn't play to their streangths.

No they'll continue selling games on the app store with the ipone/ipod touch and make money on their slice of the pie without having to invest heavily into the software side of the market. Obviously as more games get made and iphone sales increase revenue for apple will increase.

I would be very much surprised if revenue reached that figure though.

I hope Apple never gets into the console market. I don't like them.

They'll fail. No one will accept Apple in the game industry. Sony and Xbox fans won't buy their trash and Nintendo has the casuals on lockdown.

They've already entered the gaming industry and succeded. They are making a great deal of profit and are doing it on their own terms, deride it all you want, but Apple is here to stay

Great the Apple iConsole, now $599 with a hole bunch of stuff you dont need. Oh and it has Ipod graphics MWHAHAH!

I like the Ipod but its over priced, my phone does the same thing oh and i can call people.Mwahah

People are hooked on browsing that App store and games are so cheap. But I don't think Apple will make a phone that is more gaming device than anything else it does, it will always be a by-the-way-this-also-play-games type of deal. Apple has always sucked at gaming, just look at all their mice, one fugging button and lately no button at all. And its awful to play full screen games on Macs because theres no alt-tab to get out of the full screen.

1) All mice that work on a pc work on a mac

2) The default mouse with ANY computer is shit, the mac mice are much better than the majority you can get.

As for the "no way to alt-tab to get out of the full screen" comment, I am not going to respond to this, you are going to spend the 5 seconds required on google to find out how laughably wrong you are

If you are going to troll, do it right

@Scottie,
I googled that maybe a year ago actually or more, when I played WoW, someone on WoW asked me how to get out of full screen on his iMac, I tried looking for a solution, the answer I found was - play in windowed mode. I'm not interested in Googling that now, why don't you fucking tell me if you can actually do that or not, instead of saying I am trolling ...

About the mice, thats where you are wrong, if you have to replace a perfectly working mouse to game, thats just wrong. I don't know where you get the idea that all default mice are shit. You did say right off the bat that you can replace it, without defending it as a gaming mouse, so its shitty as a gaming mouse, what else is there to say? I mean what else is there to say?

Lastly, I actually like the Mac OS more than Windows. But I like the way you can built your own PC more than buying pre-built PC/Mac. But who gives a fuck, I was talking about the fucking mice. You couldn've said maybe I just preferred 2 button mice, maybe thats just me, fucking trolling jeeze ...

On a mac keyboard, there is an 'Apple' key where alt is on a standard keyboard. Pressing Apple-tab is the same as Alt-tab on a windows computer.

As for the mice, an apple mouse fits well to the hand, has left click, right click, middle click and side click, has a horizontal and vertical scroll, and if you buy a mac nowadays, wireless is standard, with a wired option available for the same price is that floats your boat. Where is the problem?

Yeah, thats supposed to be how you do it Apple+Tab, but I donno, that WoW buddy, he tried it, it did nothing. That was Leopard days, donno if the latest version fixed things like this, I wanted someone to just tell my lazy ass really (because it doesn't affect me I guess).

I don't get why people are so sensitive about Apple vs Microshaft (appease one group, annoy the other there you go) anymore. This is like the middle east for ducks sake.

Look, today's Apple is not Apple in 1997, today's Apple is consistently rated highly among the best companies in the world, recently they consistently rank higher than Google even, Microsoft is not even is not even in the list most of the time. With iPhone's success, they are so rich they are expanding into micro processors, they want to make their own processors now for iPhone/iPod. They are on solid footing, iPhone profits beat Nokia in earnings, their stock price is over 200 (Microsoft MSFT is at 29, thats not a typo, it has one less digit). Apple is no longer the fragile flower.
