Natal is going to be huge undoubtedly!
PS: hey guys, just a quick Q. How to I add a console tag under my avatar? Thx
A couple of things, SeriousFrusting - you seem to have some sort of issue against NATAL. Of course it is going to be nothing like PS eye but yet you like to keep the comparisons coming. Ther are reportedly some big names getting in on it, onyl sony and some dodgy cashins got in on the ps eye love.
SECONDLY... IT IS NOT GOING TO BE RELEASED WITH THE 720. If you are reading the article ou will see it says xbox 360 has not peaked yet. For a console not to peak and replacing it already would make no sense, thus the 720 idea has no leg to stand on
OMG this is going to be a huuuge success, can't wait!!!!!! :)
Price cut + Natal + new hardware mode + big advertisement campaign = huge huge huge success.
I can see xbox 360 could finally catch up the wii now.

I already said last summer, that Natal looks like 32X if they are still going to put it out before 720. The lack of M$ hyping Natal should be indicative. Either it's not coming out or they plan to put it on their next console. Of course, there's a third option of them not knowing what to do with it and that it's not anywhere near ready. I would be very surprised if M$ didn't see the upcoming fail Natal has. The whole Natal seemed to be just something quickly put together out of the tech the israeli company that developed the whole peripheral for PC, had. Anyway, announcing a new console at the same time Sony releases its Wand, would be effective to cut out Sonys momentum from the peripheral and being the first one out to a new console race would bring advantage to M$. @Naum: It's M$ type of leak, ie, intentionally put out. |
I think ur a lil bit cinical but u got reasonable arguments. If it wasn't for the fact that Xbox260 has dropped very slowly in price in this gen, plus that Chang guy said the Xbox will be 7-8 years old or more, i would believe in ur theory.
But Im pretty positive that MS believes in a at least a mild success for Natal, plus it's important to use the last years of this gen as a testing ground for it. Plus, this generation will be longer, everything points to that. So expect a Xbox 3 not earlier than Nov 2012.

Lack of M$ hype?
MS has stated that this project is an amalgamation of things that have been developing in MS Research for many years.
If true that has the roots to be a decent launch. But, software will be the killer. Nintendo didn't sell 20+ million $100 Balance Boards on their own. The $20 Wii Fit software pushed it into homes. Natal needs its Wii Fit and I'm sure MS knows this.

Maybe they want the games further along before they show them.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
I'll probably buy it, but I'm not convinced it's a great idea. I like to sit on my couch and relax while playing games, bouncing around like I had a dance mat is not something I'm into.
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

I dont know why everyone keeps saying its going to be huge, it could fall flat on its face. I guess its a possibilty some refuse to accept.
Is there any word that they are going to include this with every 360 sold from the release date on? Or is it going to be sold individually only?
