Hmm, it comes down to Final Fantasy on the strength of I, IV, VI, and VII, or Mario on the strength of SMB, SMW, Yoshi's Island, Galaxy, and ...do the the Mario Kart games count? If so, Mario. If no, Final Fantasy.

Hmm... how broad can I be? Atlus USA has put the Persona series under the Shin Megami Tensei umbrella; if I can use SMT to include those, then it gets my vote easily. Otherwise, as much as I love the other SMT games, I'm going to have to single out the Personas for my vote.

Mario Kart counts as it's own franchise, so I'll put you down for FF.
