This was HD DVDs best chance of outselling blu-ray for a week and they fell just short. Looks like the BOGO offers helped Blu-ray maintain their lead.

I think this holiday will decide who wins, or if HD DVD can stay in this, both have huge studio support, and even the magazine says they cant predict who will win
if HD DVD clearly outsells it in stand alone players, we could see equal market share for quite some time
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.
Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
Next week Blu-ray will be way ahead when Spiderman 3 comes out. It will be interesting to see. I preorderer the Siperman blu-ray trilogy :)
With the studios being divided the way they are (curse you Paramount for not letting this end quickly!) I see both formats being around for quite a while, although they will probably be relegated to a niche market for some time.
Home theater enthusiasts will all have to end up taking 'both the red pill and the blue pill'

If Transformers couldn't gnab a win for HD DVD, I hate to think what the sales ratios will be the weeks Spiderman 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and the Die Hard Quadrilogy come out on Blu-Ray.
It was a smart move by Sony and Disney with their 2 for 1 offers not to give HD DVD the media coverage of winning a week against Blu-ray.
Blu-ray will only continue to dominate, with the huge releases makingmusic has mentioned arriving in the next few months.

@epsilon72, i'm with you on paramount, that was really shitty of them... dragging this crap out only hurts us, without the paramount loss this xmas would have been the end of it probably. but now who knows?
good news for blu anyways though!

I think when Transformers, the best selling HD movie yet, still only attributed 2% of its sales to HD DVD, it became clear that neither is going to win this. Ever.

Right now, BR does have the better lineup (overall) but I am still glad I got the HD-DVD player. There was no way in the world I was passing up 9 free HD-DVDs for $190. Not going to happen ...
