Forums - Nintendo - ONM: On Call of Duty Reflex

The first gaming media talking about the reactions of Call of Duty reflex and its developed:

Then the first screens were released and the reaction from our forum was pretty negative. "Dreadful! Just get the PC version," said P Nickalls. "The graphics are disgraceful," commented Shortay. "I thought those were DS shots," was the response from JohnWilliam. Some people did argue that we should wait to see the game in action and, sure enough, when the first footage emerged last week, the reaction changed. Goomba1993 said "Graphics look surprisingly good, better than WaW." Clarkie123 commented: "Looks very promising. Another game to add to my Xmas list." That was all before the video was removed from YouTube!

Of course you'll actually be able to play the game tomorrow and make up your own mind but how many of you will be doing this? One person on our forum has already told me that he will be buying both Modern Warfare 2 and Reflex even though he already has the original on another console. Either that person has a lot of disposable income or he'll be buying the game from Sainsbury's!

Their review is scheduled for tomorrow. But the hard question remainds in shadows (What's going on with the promotion of his game Activision?)

The promotion question is easy, as i've mentioned before. What did they do to World At War on Wii? They ignored its very existence until December, then started putting out advertisements

This will be similar, i bet.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

i too have bought Reflex, COD6 and have COD5 WAW for Wii and 360 and never went to Sainsbury's once - we must be mad!!

It would be good to get this game advetised but in a way it's bound to succeeed as the one thing we can guarantee is the majority of people that buy this game will play it online and it will have a good online community.

That's where the Conduit succeeded as it was a game for core gamers then long after the campaign had been completed there's still always a match to be found online.

This game may join Mario Kart SSBB and the conduit in titles that there's always a match to be found when you want it - not like others where I always get no match found 90% of the time (yes I have no friends and always select quick play).

Thing is i dont think they can put a proper advertisement since MW2 will definitely overshadow this. Like Mr Khan said, i think the ads will start showing by around december to promote the game when the MW2 hype wears off a bit

That advertising scheme makes perfect sense. Why put out competing ads for a technically competing product as MW2 and MWR are not the same game. It makes a lot of sense to push your new game right at launch, then push the ported game a month later.

Worked for WaW and will work for MWR.

Not impressed with this review from my early experience of the game. To me it seems better than WaW, but there you go. A solid, but unspectacular start: 80%

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

seems pretty ridiculous that it would get that score. The game is pretty much COD4 with slightly worse graphics and better customizable controls.

Whatevs.

I can confirm this game deserves at least a 90%. I'd rate World at War for Wii a 85% BTW

Being released earlier means a lesser score.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Oh, and the review warns about being shallow enough to care about the graphics, then does just that.
