Forums - Sony - Sony is the poison killing storytelling in gaming.

That's because in Sony games, we don't get to the point where a princess needs to be rescued. We nuke the fucker that is planning on capturing them before they're able to.

Yes.  I have the balls, the nads, and the grits to say that Sony is the poison killing storytelling.  There is not a game whether it be modern Sony giant like Uncharted 2 or classic Crash Bandicoot that can compare or be seen in the same grace as something like Chrono Trigger or Super Mario Bros.  The problem for this, simply put, is that Sony does not support the rescuing of princesses.  Hell, ICO was probably the only title that had a chance to having a series with a good storyline but the princess was replaced with Colossi and a Manhattan rat in its successors.  This is poisoning gaming because so many Sony patrons have become unaware of the delights.  Their virgin eyes and ears may never know the tales of a certain time traveler, a certain Hylian and a certain plumber.

Princess rescuing is the lifeblood of storytelling in gaming.  It shows moral ambiguity, it can be appreciated by all audiences, and it provides direction in the narrative.

And if anyone is willing to say Microsoft has also neglected rescuing princesses, play Kameo: Elements of Power.  Not only does it have princess rescuing, you also later play as the saved princess which later rescues her family and a series of elemental warriors.

ICO had Colossi ?

If you want to save a princess so badly get WKC XD

I'm saying that ICO's successors had Colossi and a Manhattan Rat.  Both have replaced the princess rescuing focus.

Also, while I don't know much about WKC.. how much of the story is revolves around princess rescuing?

Pixel Art can be fun.

Actually SotC had you rescuing a young lady who seems to be in a coma (she may be a princess, not confirmed). So in that respect, it wasn't a huge change. The Last Guardian may also have a princess/girl to rescue like it's predecessors. We just don't know enough about it yet.

Well, you are making the accusation of a lack of princess rescuing. I feel you should be doing the research to back up your malicious accusations. The burden of proof rests on you.

Do you know that one of the greatest games this generation is a PS3 game about princess rescuing? Valkyria Chronicles is all about squad 7 rescuing a princess, her realm and her heritage.

It's time you got a PS3 and experienced the marvelous princess rescuing that Sony has to offer. It's not about quantity it's about quality.

Saving the princess is main part in WKC (from what i read from Gamespot's preview)

Rescuing princess from castles have been done alot, and it lost is magic long time ago

You still rescue princess in alot of games and you may not notice, because the girls is not really a princess and her jail is not a castle

Final Fantasy X, is one of the these games

Heavy Rain is also on of these games if you can look past the surface.

Please, enter into the thread in the spirit it is posted.

Though I guess it's entertaining in itself to see how many people respond like this.
