@Kasz

Well I don't know about that. Most of the younger people that I've know can't even bother to try a game of Ghouls and Goblins, even if I help them.

As I said, it's true that they can very well handle those hard games, yet the massification of easy-to-pick up games tends to divert their attention and focus from the harder, more complex games

Ghouls and Goblins is really old.  Try a "modern" Ghouls and Goblins and i think you'd be surprised.

I've seen kids play some really hard stuff... well what passes as hard on a modern console anyway.

@Kasz

I was talking about the remade version for the PSP ;)

Of course some kids are going to go of the pattern, it's only natural for it to be so, yet, what passes for hard on a modern consoles, most of the times passed as really easy on older ones.
It also depends how much a kid is trying to beat the game.
Talking about KH now, I saw a kid once who didn't give up the game until he beat Sephiroth on Expert, that to me, is true dedication.

Yeah, games on modern consoles are easier.  Which just furthers my point really about KH.

Before I jointed this site there were two types of people telling me i should play KH.  (knowing i was a big RPG fan.)

Kids, and girls my age.

@Kasz

Well, about KH I really don't have a reference point since none of my friends are into RPG's in general, so I was all alone in this aspect.

In my personal experience it was that trailer that made me buy this game, being both a huge disney, squaresoft and RPG fan at the same time.

I can see that this game catered more into the disney crowd than the rest of the other two, yet I can also see people from the other two crowds being drawn into this game without caring for the Disney aspect of it ;)

I agree with that.  The numbers just make it seem like the people who did that were no greater then 1 million.  Which is actually good by NAMED final fantasy spinoffs standards.

Disney's popularity is greatly overlooked.  People in this thread didn't think Japan cared about Disney when in reality it's a ridiculiously strong brand there.

Seven year old mind, Disney, video games.

What more do you want?

When I was seven I couldn't beat it, when I was ten I did beat it, now, when I'm beating the game easily, I wonder how could I have sucked that much?

Yeah, Kingdom Hearts is completely awesome.
