So what happens if Nintendo can't "satisfy Christmas?"

Well the simple answer is that lots of people will still want Wiis as we move into January. Some of the folks who can't find them may purchase a 360 or PS3 instead. Ultimately Nintendo wants to get as much stock into the market as they can because it appears as if no matter how many they produce they are going to sell out. So its fairly inevitable that they aren't going to meet the demand...at least not to the extent that PS3/360 will.

So either Nintendo makes enough Wiis to make sure everyone gets one or they don't and people may decide to buy 360s or PS3s instead?
Would there be any advantage to not making as many available as possible?
