Forums - Sony - New TERRIFIC GT5 Gameplay (GAMEPLAY not Replay)!! -- Sema Demo!

someone has the balls to say what we're all thinking

@Hus

I have no qualms with Selnor about Forza 3, and it's not even the question in here. In fact, I really like to talk to him about Forza 3 since he's very passionate about the game, and I also find the game quite enjoyable.

It's just that I think that GT5 videos have shown a clear evolution throught all the events that the game has been shown. Probably it's just me who has that feeling, but I cannot go against what I feel ;)

I can't say what enviroments look the best to me, since one or the other has some tracks that look better. While Forza 3 wins in the suzuka track, I still haven't seen a city track on Forza 3 that looks on par to what the London track accomplished on GT5:P

Also, while Forza 3 has a super Nurburgring track, it has a huge glitch in that some parts of the track the horizon is clipped and only shows a white rectangl. I took a picture of it, and will post it once i get a gold subscription.

The point is that, it depends on how you view each game and in what conditions. Most of the times, Forza 3 has superb enviroments, while GT5:p has the London track above all. We'll have to see and wait what GT5 will have to offer, but so far, that Tokyo R246 track enviroments looks on par to what Forza 3 enviroments have to offer.

See I have to disagree. There is a lack of detail in this tracks environments. ( watched the OP's video, and I cannot see any trees moving in the wind. Watched both twice now. )

As I said the lighting is great, and IMO hides the lack of detail. Textures on things like barriers and tree trunks are nearly non existant. The buildings are very plain, and the road appears very texturless. It's the lighting that makes it look so nice. I haven't experienced the glitch you speak of yet in FM3 on Nurburgring. But I dont doubt that glitches are appear on copies of games. My other question to PD is: Are you enhancing the physics engine from GT5P 's 120hertz ( 120 times a sec ) to 360 hertz ( 360 times a sec ) this time around. It makes a huge difference in elevation and bumps in the road. Also at 200mph it makes the difference between feeling the road, and the bump not appearing at all.

Also I didn't bring FM3 into this thread.

@Selnor

I know that you didn't bring FM3 into the thread, that was a direct reply to libelulle ;)

Well, about the physics part, I think that PD are really upping their "game", if the old TGS is anything to go by. There's already barrier and tyre-barrier physics that move and disform as you hit them, something I haven't seen before in any game. I know that the physics on 360hz are really worth it, since as you say, makes all the difference on the "feeling" of the road.
This is a case of waiting for what GT5 will have to offer.

About the nurb glitch, i'll post the pic one I get a Gold subscription ;) I have tons of pics to upload, not only that bad one, I also have tons of really awesome pics ;)

You do realize that the video you posted was an old build which even had the "bare" damage model of the Subaru right? That video is from the Jeux video event, and if I remember correctly, people were still complaining about it due to it being a replay mode video.

This is a true Gameplay video with no replay added effects, even if it has a bad quality, you can see how good the enviroments look, and in the second video, the damage replay one, you can even see trees moving to the effect of the wind, effects that weren't shown in older gameplay videos

Leave the boy alone after F3 sales failed to out do Prologue all he has left is old build vids to make him selfs feel better.  GT5 enviroments are far more realistic then F3s, hes just acting out casue GT5 is superior.

FM3 equates to 800k week 1 sales. Remember USA was later so when the 2 are together as week 1 it did pretty well. Although GT5 will smash that.

@libellule

If you look from 0:43 - 1:30 aprox, you'll see the Infinity G37 constantly clipping the white car, I think that's where he got the damage to the front bumper.

@selnor,

you can be a serious joke sometime

""As I said the lighting is great, and IMO hides the lack of detail""

lol, this is the sentence of the month !

@libellule

That impact was always there. It's the same that I've been seeing since 0:43 as I said.
