As a gamer, I'd rather buy the PSP 3000 over the Go...

Why the hell would you want a PSP 3000 over a PSP go? Just because half of the core PS3 fans hate it because its $249?

All the games are on PSN

they are cheaper on PSN

it has a 16GB HDD

its smaller

it has bluetooth internet via cellphone

Pause game

and everything a regular PSP 3000 does

@DARTH

PSP hardware makes sony a tremendous amount of money, PS3 hardware does not, if you add software it clearly isn't enough

Because the PSP 3000 is better.

Bigger screen, can get games cheaper (Used), can do anything a Go can with a big enough card.

PSP 3000 is bulky and large, if you are a GAMER especially a handheld gamer, the smaller the better, the screen is BARELY smaller, and no the PSP 3000 cannot do everything the PSP GO, for example it can't use bluetooth, you can't hook it up to the TV like a console and use a dualshock 3 , you can't pause game, allowing you to pause the game and then go to the xmb and do w.e you'd like listen to music, browse the net, w.e and then start exactly where you paused. You cannot surf the internet via cellphone bluetooth where all you do is use a cellphone as a wifi hotspot. It does not have a 16GB HDD, and the screen in the PSP GO is better.

All that seems... really useless.

For starters... why would i need to use a DS3 when i could just hook my PSP 3000 to the screen and use that as a controller.

For actually you know, playing games.  The regular PSP is better.  If most people are using it for half the reasons your talking about... you ever thing that may be a reason why people aren't buying games?

As for a 16GB harddrive...

Or better yet.  Get a 32 GB it'd still be cheaper then a PSP go.

by MONEY, I meant revenue

PS3 makes more than PSP

but profits? PSP makes more

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

it's been dying for 3 years now. But this is the worst it has been. Most of the chain stores I've been to (target, walmart, k mart) have maybe 10 or less new psp games in display. Well, my walmart is heavily discounting the software that failed to sell. So there's that. Almost no new releases though.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

It's sold an average of 10 million consoles a year since it launched 5 years ago. And it just sold ~175k this past week. It is definitely not dead.

PSP has sold a lot of hardware, but not a lot of software to go along with it, which is a pretty obvious indicator that piracy is a huge issue with it, more so than other gaming systems.

Not really.

That's a case of correlation without causation.

Is the lower software sales caused by piracy?

Or is it the high hardware sales.

I say once again.  Do you think Ipods would be even half as popular if you couldn't pirate MP3s?

Which brings in more money to Sony : PSP or PS3?

The PS2.

The psp..

Yes, but at the expense of the psp itself.

At least the DSi allows you to play every DS game and then DSiWare stuff. PSP Go doesn't allow you to play every PSP game.

I don't really like either, but there's no doubt most people think the DSi is good. Sales prove that. PSP Go...not so much.

PSP GO is an amazing product, I'm sure the majority of people that have bought a handheld don't know that the PSP is more than a gaming system..

that's sony's issue

I don't think the GO is a very good product at all. I think it offers much less for the money than any other PSP before it, and I think it is inferior to its much less expensive predecessor.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Its out selling the 360.

wait wait, i'm still not getting a clear picture.. why is it again that software isn't selling?

how is it, that a monstrous giant title like gran turismo failed to garner so much attention (even though it's prolly going to hit a million)?
