Forums - Sony - Is the PSP dying?

At least the DSi allows you to play every DS game and then DSiWare stuff. PSP Go doesn't allow you to play every PSP game.

I don't really like either, but there's no doubt most people think the DSi is good. Sales prove that. PSP Go...not so much.

PSP GO is an amazing product, I'm sure the majority of people that have bought a handheld don't know that the PSP is more than a gaming system..

that's sony's issue

Sony is making so much money on the PSP Go, it almost like they are stealing.

yes i believe it is piracy ruined it... i hope sony makes the psp2 piracy proof

Do that and it'll end up like the PSP Go.

I think you've got the wrong Idea here.

Piracy didn't ruin the PSP.

Piracy is the reason most people buy the PSP.  (Not me though.)

Think about this... would MP3 players be nearly as successful without piracy?

As a gamer, I'd rather buy the PSP 3000 over the Go...

Why the hell would you want a PSP 3000 over a PSP go? Just because half of the core PS3 fans hate it because its $249?

All the games are on PSN

they are cheaper on PSN

it has a 16GB HDD

its smaller

it has bluetooth internet via cellphone

Pause game

and everything a regular PSP 3000 does

@DARTH

PSP hardware makes sony a tremendous amount of money, PS3 hardware does not, if you add software it clearly isn't enough

Because the PSP 3000 is better.

Bigger screen, can get games cheaper (Used), can do anything a Go can with a big enough card.

All the love for the 3000 version, but nobody buys game for it.

Because I like buying games in a disc format, because I like to see my collection growing, because I don't want to spend an extra 100$ for the Go...

Lots and lots of reasons.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

PSP 3000 is bulky and large, if you are a GAMER especially a handheld gamer, the smaller the better, the screen is BARELY smaller, and no the PSP 3000 cannot do everything the PSP GO, for example it can't use bluetooth, you can't hook it up to the TV like a console and use a dualshock 3 , you can't pause game, allowing you to pause the game and then go to the xmb and do w.e you'd like listen to music, browse the net, w.e and then start exactly where you paused. You cannot surf the internet via cellphone bluetooth where all you do is use a cellphone as a wifi hotspot. It does not have a 16GB HDD, and the screen in the PSP GO is better.

I do, though I have the 2000.

I have more PSP games then I do PS3 ones.

Like I said thoush... PSPs are like Ipods in more ways then one.

What percentage of songs do you think are legal on Ipods?

It's why i don't own an MP3 player.  I don't pirate.

PSP is the same way.  How many people with PSPs do you know would still own the system if they couldn't pirate.  I'm the only person I know.

Hell most of the people I know with PSPs are more likely to use them as portable emulators for SNES and Sega games... I'm guessing thats why the PSP got a bunch of those "collection" games serise where they just emulated a bunch of games from that generation.

I've actually had to keep telling people that I didn't want to hack my PSP because they were bugging me about it.
