Forums - Gaming - Developer Says Xbox 360 3D Dot Game Heroes POSSIBLE!!

Id buy the 360 version if both came over to the states. I prefer the controller, but Im not sure there is enough money in it to make a port worth it. Ive heard the cost of making things multiplat costs around %10 more than the cost of exclusive, but still I dont know if this game will sell at all in the US/Euro.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

@CDiablo

The company that made this game, Silicon Studio, is a PS360 middleware company and the game was probably made on one of their many middleware engines.. I am sure that a port would be easy as pie for them, plus I doubt the game cost that much to develop to begin with.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Wait, I thought From Software co-developed this game with a studio that was owned by Sony? Or am I wrong? If From Software owns the rights 100%, I think they should consider the port. Many Japanese games this gen, including jrpgs, sell more in the west than in Japan. And in the western market, ignoring the 360 would be missing a big opportunity. When Lost Odyssey outsold Valkyria Chronicles by a good bit, I don't want to hear the standard, "duuhh.. xbots only buy shooters. They don't buy jrpgs" comment. From Software has developed at least 2 MS-published games (Ninja Blade and Tenchu Z) so they have a close relationship with Microsoft (and they have a working relationship with Sony as well considering Demon's Souls).

Comparing a western style jrpg to a srpg = fail. And no... jrpgs arent selling better in the west. And what did Ninja Blade do? Oh yeah, bombed horribly.

Lost Odyssey isn't anymore western styled than modern Final Fantasy games with those realistic non-animu graphics. If Final Fantasy, the prototypical jrpg series, isn't a good example of a jrpg, I don't know what is. Since when is "must have animu graphics" a requirement for a jrpg?

And yes a number of jrpgs sell better in the west. Some of which have anime artwork. I'm not going to bother listing all of them out because there are plenty. Valkyria Chronicles, which has anime artwork, is definitely one of them if you bother to look at the numbers but there are plenty more. In vgchartz game database, search for PS3, Wii and 360 RPGs. Look at each Japanese developed one, compare japanese sales with western sales. What do you see? Many of them sell more in the west than in Japan. It is you that fail and the numbers prove it. I know that jrpg fans often have this idea that these games are super popular in Japan when actually, many of them are less popular in Japan than they think. The truth is that most jrpg devs rely heavily on the western market. Not just the big companies but many small ones too.

And why are you bringing up that Ninja Blade had crappy sales (which it did worldwide). I don't get your point. Yes it had crappy sales because it was a crappy game (at least from what I heard anyway). What about it? I didn't say otherwise.

@XxXProphecyXxX
How does "Lost Odyssey outsold Valkyria Chronicles by a good bit" translate to "Valkyria Chronicles is a failure"? ROFL. I've no clue how you can misunderstand what I said to that degree given the context. Even without the context, it's a mighty long stretch.

why exacly would you compare a more popular genre(jrpg) to a niche genre such as srpg??? to prove what exacly? what are u gonna compare next? demon souls and mass effect just so u can have sumthing to prove that 360 is the console to sell rpgs?

If you can't understand what I was getting at (which was very clear), the education system clearly failed you.

Everyone wants to be like Nintendo

Uh.....what?

  Dot heroes copying Zelda

I happily disagree.

even the devs admit it, they call it homage, I call it copying, just shows they want to be like Nintendo

Not everyone wants to be like Nintendo. Believing such is pretty warped.

They are copying Nintendo, and they aren't the only ones, why do you think Sony and MS are releasing their own motion controllers

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

If you take a look at Sony's and Microsoft's top franchises, they are nothing like Nintendo's top franchises.

Aside from the Wii franchises and err Mario Kart (which is a spinoff, not a franchise), they do.

Wow, they didn't even make the bluray storage space excuse.

They chose to stick with the PS3 because obviously that's where it will sell best. God forbid Valve do the same with the 360.
