Maybe not newbie. Arcade may be dropped for the elite to go under 200 dollars. But is a worthless attack. You were suppose to talk about a walmart deal. Not sonys financials. And you really dont know how much they re losing. Transitions are expensive and Sony said the expect PS3 to be profitable before FY '10. That gives them half a year to lower costs more for another price drop.

halil - Yes walmart had two of these ps3 deals and not much of a bump.

Microsoft did not price cut this year (not really) so you better believe they will lop at least $50 off next year. Meanwhile with Sony reporting large losses in the gaming division I dont expect them to cut price in 2010.

but this thread was not about 360 to outsell ps3 or ps3 to outsell 360 this thread is about an offer on 360 which is an awesome but y fanboys jumpin and start talking about shit outselling consoles each other

The deal will have a lot of effect. I think 360 may outsell PS3 in NPD Nov. There could also be black friday deals on both consoles though. So far I'm not seeing any great PS3 deals though but that doesnt mean a 299 with $100 gift card PS3 deal may not happen on BF.

10k more 360's than usual for the week , that's my prediction, PS3 still outsell it world wide by 80k.

Yup, once in November and once in June. Both in '08. I can't find much info on the November one but the June one was on any Blu-ray player. One reason why this deal is shitty (for me anyway) is that you can't get 100 dollars off the Ps3. Its a walmart gift card. So basically you need to buy shit from walmart who I hate... they don't have that good of a game selection either since they have limited space. So you spend 200 on the 360... then use the gift card for the HDD and spend 40 more dollars. So basically buy an Elite for 240.

OT: The sale could be huge. I doubt the Arcade will be permanently cut to $100 this year, but $150 is very likely.
