Keep in mind that the Gamecube had one of the highest software attach rates of all time, which should tell you something about just how valuable a small install base of very devoted gamers works in the larger scheme of things....

On topic, I hope that Ratchet sells well, as it looks to be a solid game. If it could do 500k (America) by the end of 2007, that would be a very positive sign. Eye of Judgment won't have a broad enough appeal to have much of an effect, but maybe some card fans will enjoy it.

Yeah that's true. The gamecube had such a high attach rate because the only people who bought it were Nintendo Fanboys and people who want to own multiple consoles.

That's why it makes a lot more sense to go by total software sold.

What would that exprolate out to? How many preorders did other big games have at stores like this so maybe we can compare. For example if Halo 3 had 1100 preorders that would mean these titles are doing 300,000 first week which would be damn good for the PS3 right now.

I am guessing 150,000 first week for R%C because of the odd release with some places getting it next week. And maybe 87,000 for the Eye.

But if these results hold up good news for the PS3. HD console wars back on.

It's probably because I haven't really played R&C before, but I have a bad feeling it's not gonna pull in the big numbers like the reviews scores or SSJ might indicate. I don't think the game hits the hardcore (mature) fanbase of the PS3 and therefore the game will sell like Heavenly Sword.

o_O??? better than N including Wii sports, that's a pack-in everywhere but japan, so it's bullshit that it's counted as s/w sales or towards the attach rate, but nevertheless it is. i'm definitely a Sony fan, but you need to post links for claims like this, thanks. OT: where in the hell are you able to get your hands on R&C, i'm in Texas and haven't seen it yet, is it in EU already or what? i want my fix dammit! @dschumm, you can't compare anything to halo3... it has now made more money during it's initial release than any game, movie, book, or cd... ever! but i still don't like it =p haha

i think we might be pleasantly surprised, R&C is a PS staple, and it's from Insomniac as a 2nd game following RFoM, so that's gonna help too. i hope it does well, i'm gonna go look for it again today.

I'd also say about 150k for Ratchet first week, but I'd put Eye of Judgment at about 40k.

I just brought up Halo as an example. I was trying to figure out what the numbers given by OP would mean in terms of sales.

Our store hasn't sold a copy all week. We haven't recieved R&C....yet.
