Forums - Nintendo - Software to create Hardware boost?

I was looking at the release list for the Wii and wondering what was going to cause a hardware boost through to January 30th 2010 (worldwide: aside from the christmas season). Do you guys agree with this list have anything to add or take away?

NSMB: Wii is obviously the first one that comes to mind. Japan should go crazy for it.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles :CB

Tales of Graces

Taiko No Tatsujin 2 Wii.

Ea Sports Active More Workouts.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010.

& Maybe

Modern Warfare Reflex.

Wii Fit Plus (I think the sales monster will heat up over the christmas period. I am getting one for my mother)

DO you think that these can have some sort of sales effect on the WII for the holiday period?

I do think next year 2010 will get off to a very good start, with Metroid Other M & No More Heroes: DS (I think it will do much better than the first) and Red Steel 2, between January and April. Then some various other releases in the latter half including the Grinder (November), Zelda Wii (December) and some other random Nintendo Developed Motion Plus game.

Take away everything but NSMBWii and Wii Fit Plus unless FFCC:CB manages to have a small boost at Japan. And as far as 2010 is concerned, Zelda Wii should provide a boost.

You forgot Super mario galaxy 2 in that 2010 list which could come out in Spring or Summer. But New super mario bros Wii for Wii is like food and water for flowers.

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

NSMBW will sell a Legendary number of SW...but I still question its HW boost affect

I think NSMBWii won't provide a huge instant boost to HW, but i think it WILL provide a longer, more sustained boost along with Wii Fit Plus.

i think FFCC:TCB, ToG and Taiko No Tatsujin 2 will have small HW boosts in Japan.

As for NA/Others, I think Red Steel 2, FFCC:TCB, ToG and NMH2:DS will provide tiny bumps in Wii HW when they are released.

none of those will give NA a bump at all

I think Graces will bring the most immediate boost, but it's going to be obscured by the holidays. Musou 3/NSMB week should be decent, but as big as some expect imo.

Relying on single games to boost sales is a losing strategy though, what you need is a full, deep schedule with variety to keep sales going (see: PS2, DS). Wii has that for the holidays at least (in Japan).
