There numbers were solely from PSP GO's first day of sales. It will likely beat Wii again in the upcoming week.

It's a possibility 2nd week, but not a certainty. I wouldn't even say likely.
edit: for comparison...
PSP 1st week = ~160k (1 day)
PSP 2nd week = ~80k (7 days)

Alright, let me rephrase that, CORE HOME CONSOLES have retaken Japan with CASUAL HOME VIDEOGAME TOYS are (is) on their way down.
The HD userbase is now 5 million, compared to Wiis 8.5 million. Even the PS3 on its own is showing greater third-party sales, heck even the 360 is beating it on smaller titles!

PSP go 250$ > Wii 200$.

Seems odd given the best selling 3rd party CORE HOME CONSOLE GAME so far this year is on the CASUAL HOME VIDEOGAME TOY. :P
True the HD systems generally have better 3rd party sales, but then they also generally get the better 3rd party content. Hard not to make a connection there, especially when the few times Wii does get an attractive 3rd party brand (DQ Swords, Monster Hunter, Taiko, etc) they sell like crazy.

Wii was selling better at $250 at launch. Hell, even the Kuro Wii sold better.
I'll make a bold prediction... by March it won't be a heated sales war between Wii and PSP Go weekly, it'll be between 360 and PSP Go weekly.

Orite you got me there, and im sorry if i was being a bit aggressive, because most people here come up with absolutely ridiculous arguments. Honestly, i cant remember the last time a Wii game flopped in Japan, its always somehow this or that.
With that said, while it sold well, given the popularity of the franchise and the Wii userbase, it shouldve sold 1.5 million AT LEAST. People will say its not as good on a console, but the fact is, Wii owners in Japan just arent serious gamers. I mean just look at how many games from mid-sized developers that have sold numbers that even the 360 could beat.
Im willing to bet Sin and Punishment wouldve sold 50k on the 360 given Treasures name. Its not impossible given other shooters on it have reached the milestone.

It outsold the PS2 games, hell MHG Wii even outsold the PS2 version. Granted that was before the franchise hit the big time on PSP, but the game is at least consistent with Capcom's expectations so far and it's actually beating expectations on the online subscriptions. Then there's also Taiko and the DQ spinoff, which both sold consistently with comparable PS2 entries. Plus Capcom's Wii Biohazard shooters have far outsold their PS2 counterparts.
On Wii, established brands usually sell, new brands usually flop. That's generally the way it goes on all platforms actually, the only reason the HD consoles have generally better 3rd party sales is because they have generally better established 3rd party brands. If we bring 1st party into it though (as you did with S&P) Wii software sales murder HD consoles.
Also, Treasure's never sold 50k in Japan on an shooter. Fat chance it'd happen on 360, especially with a rail shooter... Panzer Orta didn't even break 50k on the original Xbox and that was a series that sold 500k+ on Saturn. :P
