Negative? I am just saying it was expected. Milestones are going beyond expectation to heights you never thought you would reach. Name the major barriers for Microsoft and Sony...and I am sure world wide they are mainly on Microsoft. Nintendo made a milestone by outselling the PS2 in the first two years, Microsoft made a milestone in selling one million consoles in Japan. Sony has no milestone.

@ Stage I think you should look up some definitions of the word milestone. It has very little to do with odds against. It is simply a marker of achievement in a much longer journey.

There's nothing to explain. If I plan to sell 100 million pies, I can set selling 50 million pies as a milestone or 10 million pies as a milestone. It is done often in project management to asses your progress in a time period.
Whether or not you think it is anything special is irrelevant, all i am saying is that the word milestone is an acceptable term in the context of the OP.

100 million units is only natural for a company like Sony with 10 year cycles. They were happy with their performance as they've stated in interviews many times before. This was before the PS3 slim launched as well. As I said...explain.

LOL....wait...and you believe I like Microsoft? You're guys perception about me is truly off.
I will say it one more time, a milestone has less to do with greatness and more to do with progress. 10 million is progress from one million. By your reasoning they would only reach a milstone after selling 200 million units. This stupid as it gives no indication as to how well you are doing over a period of time.
