Actually, that's not true-- I can think of a couple new franchise's (I will list the ones out in the US): Endless Ocean, Wii Sports, and Wii Fit.

Even if you combine Wii Sports and Wii Fit into the 'Wii' series, that is two new franchise's Nintendo created with the Wii.  You might not like these games, but they are new franchises. 

Also, Red Steel is not a Nintendo game, that is made by someone else (I forget who at the moment, I think it is Ubisoft-- someone correct me if I am wrong). 

As far as main Mario games, their has actually only been 1-- Super Mario Galaxy

You mention that you are still waiting for a Donkey Kong game-- but what about Pikmin?  You list Pikmin as already getting a game because of the re-release, but Donkey Kong also had a re-release-- so shouldn't 'fans' only be waiting for Star Fox and Kirby?

Sort-of on topic: Isn't the Wii Vitality releasing next year as well?  I believe the big games from Nintendo will be Metroid, Galaxy 2, Wii Vitality, the unknown Retro project, some other unanounced 'expanded audience title', and possibly Star Fox (though, I have no real evidence that Star Fox is coming out-- call it a gut feeling).  I think it is more likely we will see Pikmin 3 and Zelda in 2011.  

I am probably in the minority, but I actually liked all of Nintendo's 2008 games (I'm sure I will like NSMBWii), but several of the 2009 games have me going 'meh'.

Disaster Day of Crisis was a new IP; an average to good one, sure, but still new. Then there's You, Me and the Cubes, the Bit.Trip series and the various new IPs that are currenty unannounced but we can guess are there. That's on top of the ones already mentioned.

Nintendo is known for delays. Remember Mario Galaxy was initially going to be a launch title. We didn't see it for a year, theirs no gaurantee that were going to see Pikmin3 or Zelda come out in 2010, infact if Galaxy2 gets delayed till Christmas/Fall 2010 why bother releasing anything else alongside it. Just delay Metroid and you have a pretty strong Christmas line-up. However if Nintendo sticks to the current release projections then their Christmas line-up will lack (If Zelda doesn't make it).

I'm sorry to say but its in Nintendo's best interest to space these titles out over 2010/11 rather then release all of them next year. We also know that Nintendo has numerous games ready to be shown at E3 2010, Kirby, Donkey Kong etc...etc... I wouldn't be suprised if Nintendo delayed all of the games listed, heck RedSteel2 was supposed to be part of the Christmas line-up.

If there is one clear thing, its that Nintendo and delaying games go hand in hand. Don't get your hopes to high!

And if you buy PS3 games, there's about 95% chances you'll get one with violence and guns and weapons.

It IS a thread about an awesome lineup. You guys who want to sell their Wii just quit the forum 'cause you're not in the right thread. You won't be able to play those awesome games and instead of getting 6 or 7 games you'll buy 3 games of PS3: Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3 and Bioshock 2
