Also, in cinematic terms, they seem to forget that films that use loads of tools get criticial bashing. It's the less is more works that get the praise.

This is true, newer horror films seem to be CG gore fests and not scary, but I watched Paranormal activity, about 4 actors, a few effects, all on a budget of about 19k and it became the number one film last week plus it's the first horror movie in years to freak me out a bit.

Sounds like the Blair Witch, which was horrible in every way.  I still want that 90 minutes of my life back.

Christ, look at all the Nintendo fanboys jumping IW.

They have a valid point in what they are saying. They want their game to be equal over all platforms, and the PC/PS3/X360 can all handle it equally. Wii can't.

Some call them lazy. My ass! even though I dislike the MW games because of the setting, they are clearly a full-hearted effort on par of their developers. Critical acclaim shows that.

If they give valid reasons as to why they don't want to work on the system, I don't see why the hell you're jumping them. When it comes to cinematic experiences, the Wii is just not on par. For fact - "thanks" to the hardware.

Theoretically, if IW wanted to make their game the best it could possibly be, they should just release it on the PC, as a current day, spec'ed out PC is much more powerful than even the HD consoles, thus not "on par".

If anything reeks of fanboyism, its coming from IW hq. Reminds me of Rockstar at the time of GTA3, to be honest. Same sort of lines came from them too back then.

Exactly.  IW is full of themselves.

Same concept executed much much better.  In Blair Witch they really had no enemy, in Paranormal Activity they do.

^^^ IMO, Paranomal Activity was terrible. Definitely not "silver screen" worthy. I cant believe anyone found it even remotely scary.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. People will either love it or hate it really I haven't seen much middle ground.  It's generally those that can really put themselves in the mindset that it's real it can scare the hell out of them.

IW has been known for not wanting to developr for Wii and has made many "excuses" for it.  Treyarc has pretty much shut them up when they make a game runnable on Wii, and this case won't be different when they get assigned to port the game IW makes to Wii. So IW cannot do the explanations a company like Id makes for not developing on wii.

it would be really nice if Treyarc could have some freedom to develop a Wii exclusive game. I want to see what they can do with the engine besides making IW ports and WWII based games

im gna guess this why modern warfare 1 is being delivered nov 10? we shud'nt expect a good game then? lol

I play games to play a game, not to play a movie.

I'm sorry but if I got my hands of a first person movie I would be extatic. real life visuals in a game would be awsome (There getting close). Maybe in a generation or two studios will actually create games that are on par with cinema which is what I think Infinity Ward is trying to do! You just can't produce the visuals on the Wii that you can on the 360/PS3.

Of course I could always see them starting a next generation Nintendo product. With 2011 only two years away a launch title is plausable.

Haven't seen it yet, but I guess when a $19,000 (or whatever) film makes over $85 Million so far it got something right for a fair number of people.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Observing IW's track record, its starting to seem that they are a "one trick pony" that just doesn't have the talent to do much else. Seems they are stuck in this rut of HD FPS games, and little else. While the games look good, it seems rather unflattering of them to not expand, as FPS games are the easiest of the genres to design/develop.

I only wonder if you'll still consider them a "one trick pony" if they just released the damned thing on wii. Otherwise, I agree with your points based on observation even though you can't really tell whether they stick to the FPS genre by choice or as a result of pressure from their parent company, activision
