My wife has a 3G iPhone.

Interestingly, the Apps we ordered stopped working last week when she got logged out of the App store. Once she signed back in, all was fine.

That makes me wonder about this as a real platform.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Hmmm, that's weird... try transfering your purchases to iTunes and resynching...

Uhm..  you don't have to be logged in to use your apps.. how would that work on an Ipod Touch..  there are 2 options what happend..

1. an app got a faulty installation..

2. she synced her iphone onto another computer with a different account and apps..

the apps get messed up because of that..

Solution: Update or reinstall 1 app and all the other apps will work again..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

got 3GS

I use it for
#1 email (that is what I wanted it for and it's great)
#2 music to at and from work (I walk 20mins so that's about 40 mins a day plus about 3h at work during morning and lunch)
#3 Games (I bought about 15 games and DLed a couple of free ones too (well I have 6 pages of games on it... played about only 9 games fully).
#5 Star gazing (got a great app free during the moon landing birthday ($15 otherwise) and been using it a lot to learn the stars... the fact that these things move the sky in real time is great for beginers)
#4 poratble map (one of the reasons I wanted one.... and the third week I had it, it saved me from 1h of bumper to bumper trafic)

plus my GF uses it to quickly log my facebook and spy on her brothers :p

I'm very happy with the Iphone and it's games.

I've been playing Eliminate lately. I have about 40+ games on my phone though.

i have an iphone and i game on it on occasion. the games aren't nearly as fun as my home consoles but i tend to play it more than my ds just because i always have it with me which isn't true of my ds.

i've mostly played geoDefense and currently toki toki but i have a few other games. i like the part where games only cost about a dollar so if i don't like or don't play a game i buy i really couldn't care less.

I own an 8GB Touch, never played a game on it though.

You're missing out.  You can't compare it to consoles, but there are some damn good innovative games on the platform.

I'm stuck with free apps for now, because I don't have a credit card and Canada apparently has some stupid laws restricting what you can buy with iTunes cards. Still, there's a lot of fun to be had for nothing. I play a lot of Cribbage and Scramble and when I get around to getting a credit card substitute I look forward to getting the full version of games like Glyder, Monkey Island and geoDefense.

I recommend (free stuff)

PandoraBox (tracks new releases and price drops (classifies them as free or paid and you can save favorites to check them easely)
APOD (astronomic picture of the day)
planets (basic star map that shows constelations in real time... limited details though, but free)
Kanondrum (a drumset :p)
Shazam
Stanza

Games that are free:
Eliminate pro (online FPS)
PewPew (geometry wars type game)
Tapdefence (rather complete defence game)
collider
badaboo (fun 30 sec game)
topple (tetris with gravity) (& 2)
tapquest (maybe a bit too basic)
wordfu (haven't tried it though :p)

that should be enough for a little bit... use pandora to track free games (cheap games that go free as a promotion), and you might want to add a sudoku game in there :p
