I bought one of those from Gamespot and the damn thing didn't work at all.  Took it back and bought the Official Playstation Component Cable. Cost a bit more but the quality of the cords is quite good and they can be used on either the PS3 or the PS2.

I think this is the only way to get Gran Tursimo 4 to display in 1080i.  I actually got in an argument when I bought the cable because the clerk was trying to tell me that the PS2 would not display that resolution and buying the cable was a waste of money.  I told them to look up GT4 and Touring Trophy.

Yes indeed, I have component cables for my PS2.

This is what I got.

The Wii looks so much better in 480p.

Also, if you play a lot of music games like me, the cables will also cut back on the lag a bit. :D



 

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

get em, makes a nice difference seeing as wii players are only seeing 480 to begin with..might as well make it progressive scan. alot of GC games can benefit from it too. very worthwhile imo

Seriously? I have refused to use composite cables since the PS1 days, and wish I'd had component (well, SCART) for the SNES. Even on an SD TV the difference is huge.
