Yes, but not more than Mario Kart and the thinking is that this game could sell more in the fashion of Mario Kart. i.e. a bridge title that can appeal to core gamers and the expanded market.

Also, i love how many supposedly informed 'hardcore' gamers on this site are promoting the line that this game is a port of the DS game.

OT: MW2 will get the end of year honours but NSMBWii might win out for lifetime sales.

I disagree, MW2 could have huge legs, but I do think NSMB will pass MW2 eventually though.

Mario Galaxy has more sales than MW Xbox360.

MW2 will beat New Super Mario Bros Wii for 2009.

For lifetime, of course, it's Mario. That depends on how they will set the release date of Galaxy.
I'm so looking forward 2010. This will be huge for the Wii.

I wasn't going to say anything for fear of unholy wrath, but I just don't see Modern Warfare 2 having such incredibly high sales in such a short period of time. 13 million in the first couple months and then only 5 million more over the course of its lifetime (which, as shown by Call of Duty 4, can last up to 2 years or more)?

Also, New Super Mario Bros. is being hailed like it's the next freakin' Wii Fit or Mario Kart Wii. I'm sure it will be big, but a lot of people seem to be very sure that it will sell 20 million or more, when such a thing isn't easily accomplished. It's very possible, but I would never call it anywhere close to certain.

Well that's the funny thing. Even if it did have the biggest launch ever (somewhere around 6 million) which isn't impossible, it would also need to sell over a million every week for the rest of the year (combined). But on the other hand, I expect ioi to come back and bitch slap us later anyways.
