I am not shocked because I believe it's an over-tracked number for sure. There's no hype at all for MAG, I refuse to believe there's 80k pre-orders. It would deserve that though, cos MAG is an excellent game but it just wont sell very well with no marketing and hype.

And you know there's no hype for MAG...how?

Because I haven't detected much hype for it on the internet.

Plus many Sony fans her on VGC have proclaimed that they're not interested in a game with such a mess on a big battlefield.

Well, indisputable evidence then. Sorry I ever doubted ya.

he is right though, just show me people getting crazy over MAG.

I have my doubts as well considering those numbers. Established franchises like Mass Effect, God of War, Splinter Cell or Bioshock have not as many preorder as MAG...? Furthermore MAG seems to be more niche, it is only for online gaming. I guess we will have to see. Seems strange anyway.

As known by now, what is on the interent does not reflect real world views. Not everyone on the internet has access to the beta. Not everyone on the internet is crazy about MAG. So what?

Also, other games from different genres mean nothing here, as MAG has not only a beta, but is in a different genre from every game you mentioned, except for Bioshock, which in reality isn't like MAG either.

MAG stands out alone.

It's like Heavy Rain, but more action oriented.

It's an MMOFPS.

Well,  that's mostly what I'm getting at. Even though Bioshock is an FPS too, it's hardly like MAG, and therefore can't be realistically compared to it.

I for one agree with you CGI and MontanaH.

MAG stands out on it's own. There isn't another game out there like it. Not even Socom. Although that would be close than Mass Effect 2, God of War, Splinter Cell and Bioshock.

i am in the beta and i find it quite good and fun... i am a counter strike fan so i am quite into this type of games... i dont see that much big of a deal on these numbers because people want to get in the game when the on-line community is big (and that is for sure the time the game come out), been this a only on-line game!

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

I think you misunderstood all this hype thing. ^^

On the internetz a lot of videogames are getting hyped. That does not reflect the real world. The case that games are getting hyped in the real world but not on the internetz is VERY rare. This could be for casual games like Wii titles or rockband etc etc. but certainly NOT for a online only fps. Thats why I have my doubts.

And it is not important that the games I mentioned are from different genres. They all have less preorders than MAG even though being sequels to established franchises.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

If by disbelief you mean I don't believe the numbers are accurate then yes.

I really don't care either way personally, week 1 sales will show the true demand in the end and I don't mind waiting. They better launch this as a finished product though because the game will tank if they go the beta route home went down.

Saying Home tanked is a completely different topic and having nearly 9 million users isn't tanking.

Why u call me out on it though? Ive never seen anyone else prove it either, that there's a certain level of hype for a game. These statements are always based on subjective opinion and evaluation, and sometimes a general consensus forms on whether a game was hyped or not.

One thing you all need to realize is that vgchartz members are just a select group of people and there are other non game fanatics that will just basically like the concept of MAG  (and also because it's another shooter) and not care about the beta or anything else. With that said, if Resistance 2's sales were based on vgchartz members hatred for the game, it would flop but obviously not everyone thinks like ppl on here and that's why it sold almost 2 million copies

Why with every PS3 exclusive almost without fail do we get ridiculous threads like this one?. Noone has the slightest clue how the game will do especially with it being a new ip. It could be the modern warfare 2 killer for all anyone on here knows.

you low expectation having mother fucker. MAG is gonna be huge. I expect 2 million lifetime minimum.

loudest mofos on PSN...

quoting myself FTW!

Warhawk 500k ltd sales rumored close to 1million with PSN sales.

Socom 900k ltd - 230k first week. (also sold on psn right?)

Given a much bigger user base, MAG should easily surpass those two.
