I can't believe this thread is still alive. The trolling here is outrageous. MAG numbers are fine, unless VGC says so. I mean seriously, people are questioning these numbers with their retarded opinions with NO factual base or evidence. In any debate numbers CRUSH opinions, and those who say the numbers are fine, have the numbers on their side. So anything anyone else says is purely speculative and down right ignorant. Unless they can produce some document stating that VGC has retracted their numbers, or saying that gamestop has overtracked MAG preorders, I suggest most people here just shut it, before they look like TOTAL asses. >__<

I'll state my opinion where I please, you're the only poster I've read in here being ignorant.  By the way VGC numbers have been wrong many times before particularly on software tracking, just fyi.

VGChartz is also the most acturate with the numbers as well. Let's not forget that.

I wouldn't bother visiting the site if I didn't believe a lot of the numbers and data on here.  In this case I happen to think the numbers are wrong and stated in my first post in the thread that I'm not that bothered anyway and will wait for first day sales which will prove one way or another how accurate these figures are.  I've not told people they cannot believe the numbers as that's their perogative, just as it's mine to doubt them also.

You've been all over people who think it's going to sell well. You don't believe the pre-orders, why?

I never quoted any sales figures I believe but you're welcome to point out my error if I did.  I stated that I hoped the game had perfect netcode upon release not in a beta state or it would have it's legs cut.  I never mentioned a LTD figure or first week and I can't remember telling someone a figure they estimated was wrong.  Perhaps you mistook me for someone else in the thread?  If by being all over people who think it's going to sell well you mean I defended my opinion from others then yes I did.

Someone asked for evidence of why these pre orders could be doubted, check previous games pre orders and you'll notice this is unusually high given the lack of marketing or hype for the game, even more so when you consider how many AAA games will be released around the sme time too.

MAG has been talked about for 2 years. It's been in beta for quite a while as well. On top of that it's Zipper.

Those three factors alone have proven to be a strong "marketing" campaign for the game. At this years E3 Zipper did a live demo of MAG running. 256 players. It went pretty smoothly.

Now you haven't mentioned any numbers (I don't think, I didn't see any anyways), but you've been going after people who support this game and think it will do well.

ioi did say it could be overtracked. And these numbers are estimates so you cannot say they are 100% accurate. +/- 20% is actually pretty reasonable and would make for a good estimate.

OT: MAG day 1! Can't wait to play. I hope they have a version that comes with a headset.

Who knows, by that time there could be in-game voice chat for PSN.

What...........nobody ever said wishful thinking was a crime...

Will you really need in-game voice chat when everyone on your list is playing MAG? =P

No I think you need to read the thread again, I was:

1.  Answering the OP honestly with my opinion

2.  Attacked for not sharing the majority viewpoint

3.  Responded to a poster that called me close minded then agrees with a blatant troll

4.  People went after me, not vice versa

I happen to believe that a reasonable differing opinion is a contribution to a thread discussion rather than someting that must be erradicated.

I'm not saying your opinion should be "erradicated". I'm am saying however that this game will sell well. It will handle well.

You are doubting the pre-order numbers, because of what? VGChartz isn't always completely accurate with numbers, when they are trying to gather that data from every possible source out there?

I mentioned 3 factors of why this game will sell/handle well.

You're welcome to your opinion, I already said why I doubted the numbers so I'm not repeating myself.  Also the thread title really wasn't that deep a question but I've run wih it and explained my opinion to anyone that questioned it.  I think it will sell well but I'm not willing to commit to any number until we get closer to release and see a lot more info.

Ok, well I for one believe this game will sell a million in it's first month. I also think it will also have decent legs, from word of mouth.

I don't understand why people keep saying that MAG does not have any hype. MAG has an extremely active community. http://forums.mag.com/mag/
A lot of people seem to be hyped for this game. There may not be a lot of hype on VGchartz, but does that really matter. VGchartz hype hasn't exactly been great indicator of sales.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.
