Forums - Gaming - Gamespot:Dragon Rising gets Best score on PC,Worst on Xbox 360!

The PS3 version being better than 360 is a surprise, but I can't think of any PC multiplats this gen that play or look worse on PC.

Well given Sony's previously more open attitude towards mods, I'd suggest the PS3 version over the 360 version even if were slightly worse. There is more of a chance of the PS3 owners having free access to the PC mods than the 360 owners. Even if Bioware was able to get MS to allow them to package some of the modded content on XBL it damn sure wouldn't be free. The UT3 mods were available to PS3 owners for the most part. So if you can't run the PC version, I'd go for the PS3 version.

I'm about 90% sure. I think in an interview with DA:O devs, they said that all the pre-orders etc were linked to your EA account.

So for example, they had the character creator on PC, and if you made a character early you got one bonus linked to your EA account... similar to the browser game.

They also said that if you get the PS3 game the bonuses are linked to your EA account.

I don't have a link for it... I'll know if it's true when I try the ps3 version and see if i get the bonus from the PC character creator

Yeah I just read the same thing. I cancelled my 360 order and ordered the PC Collectors Edition. I just check New Egg's Canadian site, unfornately I couldn't find Dragon Age on it. The US site still has teh PC Collector's Edition...strange.

Well I'm still a bit confused about one thing: why are you buying Mass Effect 2 on 360? The difference in the quality of the first game between the 360 and PC versions is huge....

Well PC will always have the "best" version since the PC is infinitely upgradable. But I prefer playing console games on my couch on my TV. Of course I realize you can hook your PC up to a TV, (I had mine hooked up to my TV for a year) and let me tell you it's a real hassle typing emails and doing work etc. from your couch so unless you have a PC that you use ONLY for gaming it's not a viable option.

Also the visual difference is not as striking as some people perpetuate unless you have a monster rig.

Well I think my laptop can't run this on Pc...But I just watched reviews and I dunno...
Sounds interesting, but so does Demon's Souls...
Well I skip this to next year.

I've beaten ME1 on 360 so many times. There is no way I'd get close to having the number of Shepards ready for the PC games launch.  At least not without not working, not buying any more games, and locking myself in my apartment for until ME2's release. I've beaten the game at least 10 times. I'd have to go back and count. I haven't beaten it once on PC yet. I've got so many games to play it's not funny. I'm half way through Arkham Asylum. I've got about 30 hours into Demon Souls. I still have some white barriers to clear in Murasama. I need to hit the lottery so I can play games all day at this point.

I will quote Destructoid on which version is best:

"It's worth noting that PC gamers get a more tactical perspective of battle, have access to hotkeys, and can pause the game to issue commands. These additions will surely help and make the PC game the infinitely superior choice. In comparison, the console versions cannot handle the kind of battles BioWare have created. This game probably should not have been released on the PS3 or Xbox 360. Even with the extra tools, however, the PC version still seems to suffer from many of the same problems, from what I have played of that version."

Yeah, I can definitely see this.  It would be like trying to play WoW on console.  Too much shit to take care of on a controller.  I will still get this on 360, mainly due to the fact that I cannot rent anything for PC.

Also don't forget how absolutely ridiculously awesome the toolset they released for it on the PC. I definitely don't plan on buying any DLC for this game, the community will make me enough content to last forever.

Definitely.  If I was in the mood for some hardcore RPG madness, I would buy it for PC.  I am just not in the mood.
