Trek is beloved by millions. There really isn't much strangeness here, well atleast not to me.

Wasn't their an xbox 360 transformer created in the first movie?  That was pretty funny if I do recall right.

I prefer the Star Trek bundle. Great movie.

lets not get hasty with the term great movie,   paths of glory, brazil, and empire strikes back are great movies. the new trek was merely good. man id so buy a brazil 360, ...... terry gilliam rocks, or any kubrick themed console ......

Hmmm and I say let's not let your insanity get loose either goddog. Trek 2009 was not "merely good", well in your view it was. I happen to think it was an incredible movie. I can't wait for the blu ray version to be sitting in my PS3 playing over and over. I prefer Trek to Star Wars junk hands down personally.

I will grant you Brazil is in incredible movie but Paths of Glor was "meh" to me, but hey to each their own. Sorry not dogging you, just defending the beauty that is "Star Trek 2009"

As to the OP: Never underestimate the power of Trek, it has legions of crazy fans out there.

I definetly agree with doggod the new star trek isn't all that great compared to the old star treks, now those were great movies, the new one was just to childish (for a younger generation or people that havent seen the old ones)

anyone who says they thought the new star trek was "incredible or amazing" is either young or hasent seen the old ones.

"In your opinion" gaming_addict24. How old are you might I ask, 24 by your screen name or something else? I have seen everything made that is Star Trek and am pretty able to say I have a solid opinion. The problem here is you can't claim fact over something that is subjective.

As to your post...

Too young: I happen to be 38 and as stated above saw almost everything Trek related in its first release/run (the few before I was born I missed until after I was born).

Hasn't seen the old ones: Hmm see above. I have seen everything made that is Trek including the specials. I never said it was BETTER than the others, because every movie has its place. In the light of it being a new vision, that was explained well in the movie, it was very well done. There were things in each Trek movie that were amazing to that movie. One thing I loved in Star Trek 2009 was the space scenes actually felt epic in size, very massive. I also enjoyed the story personally.

Anyway, to each their own but you kind of called me out with your bad generalization statement.

You hit the nail on the head robbo918. I have also seen pretty much everything related to Star Trek and I also agree that the movie was amazing. One of the biggest problems with this forum and forums in general are the people who try and make their opinion seem more important or the only one that matters.
