Yeah, I loved the level design in Mirror's Edge and it was one of the high points as you definitely saw it during the Time Trials. As long as they keep this up in the sequel and keep the core gameplay the same, I won't complain.

i agree with everything, except for the multiplayer part, this games does not need it

- Replace those crappy cartoon cutscenes with scenes like we saw in trailers prior to release (that only feature in-game like that at the very very end..as credits rolled).

- Hire better story writers.

- Make the game longer.

- Less bloom.

- Replace that crappy red fog ghost in time trials with a real looking ghost.

- If gonna do DLC for this one too make it city levels instead of that floating block rubbish they released.

Other than those things i had no issue with it. The gun combat is so rare it doesn't need improving and fixing the bloom will make the disarming so much easier.

The story writer was good.  The issue was that the levels were already designed when Rhianna Pratchett(yes, she is the daughter of Terry Pratchett) wss hired to do the writing.  This limited her creative freedom when she was trying to write the story.  Developers should start hiring the writers early on instead of procrastinating if the directors of the games aren't doing the writing themselves like Hideo Kojima and Fumito Ueda.

i hated when i tried to jump to a bar or ledge and would pass right through the object i wanted to grab and would fall to my death. (these are things i am supposed to jump to, but the game wouldnt recognize that i did)

Pretty much agree with all of that. I'd like them to essentially ditch shooting combat and get the melee to where it should be.

The story was weak and I hated the cheap cutscene cartoons - although that might be personal taste.

One thing I'd like added is some detection and stealth, which I actually think would fit with the overall 'feel' of the game. I remember dropping into the office early on and thinking, cool, now I'll nose around for evidence, etc. then find a way out, but there was none of that and I was forced right back into running - and while running is central to the game, being forced to do it for the bulk of the game felt wrong to me, and made the story feel very constrained. You need to mix up big action levels with other stuff (as Uncharted 2 so ably does, for example) and I think some stealth and detection would go a long way to that in ME Universe.

I think an engine designed more like Assassin's Creed or Uncharted would work better than UE3 engine, which is built around smaller, discrete levels. ME should have massive, expansive levels, with lots of room to really move around - although I will say I was impressed at times what they got out of the UE3 engine with ME.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

@ Reasonable

I agree that a bit of stealth and investigation actually could work well if implemented right. Could make for some good breaks in the action, as well as bring some interesting gameplay hopefully.

Make it 3rd person. Nobody really believed that they were running on rooftops. At least in third person, we can look at the main character's ass.

Hell, they could remove combat all-together and I wouldn't miss it. I hated how it was like "Avoid combat at all costs!" then in the last mission "You're locked in with 10 guys with guns! Enjoy!"

Everything was fine, just make it really long.
