The Wii hasn't beaten the 360 once in all of October, and the DS only beat it once.

Halo 3 = gateway drug to 360? You be the judge. And will the 360 get another NPD under its belt?

Edit:*eye's his signature* ... oh Neoooooooooooos ...

I just noticed this week's numbers. I just hope the PS3 didn't get beaten by the Game Boy Advance...

With Xbox being up 95k over the Wii Nintendo would have to up the supply to win October on the home console side. It is only up 65k on DS though and that is far from secure.

My guess would be hold off the Wii but lose a close race to the DS.

I think the 360 will be the number one console until november, then SMG comes out.

LOL Hannah ... I think it will ... I wonder when we'll see the PS3 on top like that. I am amazed that the U.S. is single-handedly keeping the 360 in the fight. They need to get foreigners to snag 360s ... and the PS3 in the U.S. is horrible. 23K? Oh my ... not cool. I guess the U.S. needs the PS3 price cut more than the rest of the regions. Wow ...

Judging by the fact ioi had the 360 undertracked by 70k in september and it still won and since he updated the first two weeks of October (part of the Halo 3 undertracking period) with similar numbers, there's a chance it'll beat Wii. Provided he's not undertracking the wii by a lot of course.

Completed XBLA: 16 / 32
Completed Retail: 17 / 64
GS Completion %: 82.63%

I'm going to pull a Diomedes and say that Wii and 360 are overtracked, and PS3 is undertracked, and that the PS3 actually outsold both of them in reality.

Thus, this thread should be renamed "How can the PS3 NOT beat out 360/Wii in October"

It would be a slight defeat for one of the two.

This week numbers the X360 is been outsold.

It's definately been a very different effect in the USA than elsewhere.....in EU/other and Japan Halo was a definate spike in hardware sales...but using the new improved chart function (i love ioi), the American effect looks more like a breast.
actually i just changed the start and end date for the graph and it makes rather a strange breast now.

Anyhow, it could be posisble, both 360 and Wii numbers have been adjusted upwards since September NPD...so for October (not including the week ending the 6th, that was in September NPD) 360 is currently ahead by over 50k.

If the downward trend for 360 continues though, i think next week Wii may sell about 15-20k more than 360 (360 sub 100k now) and the week after it might manage the 30-35k more needed.....still it's very possible indeed.

----also the new analysis tab is great, love the tables where you can set a start and end date and get the sales for all the consoles (well all of current and last gen, the older ones only work for Japan)

It could happen. At least up until the release of SMG. Wii shipments will go way up and the holiday boost will start from then on.
