Forums - Gaming - So is Square done with the Final Fantasy remakes?

Does SE like money? Yes, they do.
But they better leave my darling FFVI alone, or I'll smack them!

i hope they remake FF6 on teh PSP i heard great things about FF6

I'd rather DS just so they can get it out faster. PSP is great too though.

Being that Square doesn't use the touchscreen in their remakes, the game would be so much better in the Crisis Core engine on PSP. I'd love to see the 3D with a bit more horsepower.

An engine has to work with both gameplay and graphically abilities. A "real time" engine like that used in Crisis Core, wouldn't work in a single player game.

Considering Nintendo contracted Nvidia for the next handheld, I'd say we'll have another FFIV remake soon.

I believe they used the same engine with Dissidia which was a fighting game, so I think they use the same engine for a turn based game. I'm not sure why they couldn't just make a game with turns rather than action.

Why would they remake VI on the PSP when they seem to be in love with the DS for these?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Square has made and is making tons of games for the PSP. They have had 3 remakes on the platform already as well as Dissidia with more original games on the way.

Square also loves the PSP.

I'm going to throw this out there

Do you see FFV or FFVI coming to PSP rather than the DS?

I hate SE for keep remaking all those old FF and DQ games. Make more NEW games, SE! I want new entries in the chrono, Xenogears and vagrant story frachises.

Square doesn't actually make the remakes. They farm these out.
