They don't have a choice in this case. They've already set a precedent with the remakes, and the numbered FF remakes are the best sellers. They can't backtrack and straight port them now. With the engine done and the majority of work having already gone into the original production of the titles, it really shouldn't cost a lot to develop them. I would think the toughest part would be the new CG sequences, but even that is small potatoes.

I suppose that's true (though I woud think hiring voice talent would be the most expesive part), but at the same time... I dunno. My doubts are not really reasoable, I freely admit, but I wonder.

I also wonder if they're coming to the DS at all.

I really do hope they do a remake of VI, I want to play that on the DS so badly. >_

Seems like they're taking a break. But obviously they'll do more remakes.

I'd like to see the original Final Fantasy with Lost Odyssey graphics. It could happen.

I don't get why people need remakes. Is it so hard to play the remakes that already exist? FFV and VI were both ported to GBA and their graphics are perfectly fine. I just don't get it.

A remake on a completely different console could appeal to people who may have never played or have no interest in an older version.

Also its an opportunity to make the classic even better.

SAME here khuutra

FF5 intrigues me in so many ways, its really the ONLY FF game of old that I havn't played properly....I REALLY want a Wii or DS Remake

I dunno but instincts keep telling me Wii will get the FF6 remake!

I'd rather DS just so they can get it out faster. PSP is great too though.
