Forums - Gaming - So is Square done with the Final Fantasy remakes?

See title.

I ask this because it's been awhile since FFIV came out and we're heard neither hide nor hair of FFV, much less FFVI or FFVII. Which is a damned shame since I've never finished FFV and was waiting for the remake to do so.

Anyway, what do you guys think? There's been a gap in these announcements, filled mostly with Dragon Quest remakes - does it mean anything? Might FFV and beyond be remade on a more resource-intensive system, even a home console?

Thoughts, please.

FFV and FFVI will be in the "remake" cards eventually

Yeah, it's a damn shame if they stop right before V and VI.

probably they will probably make them when they need some easy cash. We all know these games will sell pretty decently and probably dont cost very much

This cannot be construed as an answer

Hell, it almost sounds like a lamentation

Shhh... just wait.

Oh Jesus Christ

Look that FFVII remake rumor has been flying around since 2006

It's not happening yet, and in all likelihood would only happen after V and VI

Damn, you're so serious, haha. Anything that has something to do with... anything on this forum usually incites talks about FF VII.

5+2? FF VII remake!
7 letters in a word? FF VII remake!

On topic, I hope they do remake FF V.. but not VI. For some reason, VI in the IV style is... less charming? not as good? I dunno, I just can't imagine that.

It might have had something to do with the developer working on Nostalgia, which just got released. They may have not been snagged up by Square to do all three back-to-back-to-back. Maybe with that out of the way, they'll be working on FF V now.
